WME has signed Oscar-winning veteran designer and artist H.R. Giger, Footloose remake star Kenny Wormald, and Landon Liboiron, who’ll star in the Steven Spielberg-produced Fox series Terra Nova.
Giger is the Swiss surrealist artist responsible for the groundbreaking visuals on the Ridley Scott-directed Alien, for which he won the Oscar for Best Achievement in Visual Effects. Giger, who has his own museum filled with his work in Switzerland, will be repped by WME for film, TV and vidgame design work along with Section 9 Entertainment. He has been very selective in the projects he’s done. Les Barany remains the agent for his art work.

Wormald was chosen by Paramount and director Craig Brewer for the Footloose lead after a long search. A trained dancer who was previously seen in the pic Center Stage: Turn It Up, he stars opposite Julianne Hough in the remake. Wormald’s also repped by Caliber Media. Liboiron landed a lead in Terra Nova, a high concept adventure that follows a family that goes back in time in an effort to repopulate Earth. He also stars in the indie Ansiedad, and is managed by Magnolia Entertainment.

Giger is the MAN! I hope WME realize they now have a living legend on their books. Can’t wait to see his work in Prometheus.
Jesus, I HOPE he was hired for it! Gieger has had a profoundly BAD experience with Hollywood, where his style is ripped off for dozens of sci-fi & horror films. Witness the way he was never brought back for ALIEN II…ol’ Jimmy Cameron just ripped him off with his own design for the Alien Queen.
I am hoping that Ridley Scott brings him back for PROMETHEUS. The visuals would be 1,000% better!
HR Giger is absolutely amazing, a true talent in the world.
Intriguing. Before Giger’s gig on Alien, he designed the album cover for ELP’s Prog Classic Brain Salad Surgery, my all time “rock” favorite. See The Show!
Interesting. Les Barany in NYC used to handle Giger’s deals.
He’s a Rottweiler in human form. Guess he’s out of the picture now.
The Space Jockey — you’re dead wrong. Get your facts straight before spewing BS. Barany’s still in the picture. I know him. He’s the most fiercely loyal guy and the best agent H.R. Giger’s ever known.
I hope WME will put Giger together with the right directors and projects. His aesthetics are certainly not for everyone, but when he’s married to the correct material for his style, the results are breathtaking.
Any chance of a hardcore Geiger retrospective in LA?
That would make a splash with the kiddies (who need a Geiger refresher) and his long term fans
Les continues to handle Giger in the art world and WME handles him in the feature/television/video game world.
Does this increase the value of his artwork? Sadly, yes.
