EXCLUSIVE: Adult Swim has ordered Regal Productions, a live-action comedy pilot created, directed, produced and starring Bob Odenkirk. Odenkirk developed the project with Brian Jarvis and Jim Freeman, who will co-star in the pilot with him. The comedy, executive produced by management/production company Odenkirk/Provissiero, revolves around Regal Productions, which, in a strip mall in North Hollywood, churns out wedding videos, Internet ads, low-budget infomercials and even feature films for “ancillary” markets. Former Saturday Night Live writer Odenkirk, co-creator/star of HBO’s Mr. Show with Bob and David, recently recurred on How I Met Your Mother and Breaking Bad.

Clearly you haven’t seen him on Breaking Bad, at all. The idea of a show with Bob Odenkirk in charge of a low rent anything is spectacular to me, after watching him in Breaking Bad. He’s a crooked, strip mall lawyer, and he’s perfect. He steals every scene he’s in, and like all real great character actors, you get happier just when he comes on screen.
And that Brian Jarvis guy is really hilarious! SO great that he’s a part of this!!

Bob’s upset most executives in Hollywood. A proponent of bait and switch tactics (his last hbo pilot) sells one thing that sounds kind of good – then does another that is kind of not. Without Cross there isn’t an odenkirk. Good luck with this one Adult Swim!
