EXCLUSIVE: Management/production company Anonymous Content is about to make a major play in the talent game. I’m hearing that Doug Wald is leaving his partnership at Raw Talent, Sandra Chang is leaving as partner at Industry Entertainment, and Tony Lipp is leaving CAA. The trio will lead Anonymous Content’s talent division and create a major infusion of acting clients. It is all taking shape today.
Lipp announced internally on Tuesday that he would leave CAA to be a manager. Wald and Chang dropped the bombshells this morning at their respective management companies.
Anonymous has a modest talent business that included four managers and clients like Samuel L. Jackson, Robin Wright, Katie Cassidy, Omar Epps and Adrianne Palicki (just cast as Wonder Woman). The newcomers will greatly expand that list, and a lot of it is emerging talent. Among the actors already set to join: Sam Worthington, Paul Dano, Emma Stone, Penn Badgley, Anna Faris, Max Minghella, Jack Quaid, Patrick Wilson, Justin Chambers, Jessica Walter, Jaime King, Matt Bomer, John Cleese, Blythe Danner, Jonathan Groff, Mamie Gummer, Nathan Lane, Simon Russell Beale and Stanley Tucci.
Anonymous Content was formed about 11 years ago by Steve Golin after he sold Propaganda to Polygram and then left when Seagram bought the company in 1998. Anonymous Content has always reflected his interest in writer-directors, and its current roster includes Steven Soderbergh, The Departed scribe William Monahan, Tron: Legacy helmer Joseph Kosinski, The Amazing Spider-Man helmer Marc Webb, David Frankel, Richard Shepard, Bill Condon, David Slade, Scott Z. Burns, Richard Linklater, Shari Springer Berman & Robert Pulcini, Jane Eyre helmer Cary Fukunaga and Lorene Scafaria, the scribe who’ll make her directing debut on the Anonymous Content-produced Steve Carell/Keira Knightley-starrer A Friend At The End Of The World. Anonymous most recently produced Winter’s Bone, is also producing Fun Size for Paramount and just wrapped Everybody Loves Whales for Universal.
The move is a surprise because Wald, Chang and Lipp each spent close to 15 years with their respective companies.

Who says the LeBron, Bosch, Wade deal wouldn’t be influential? LOL
Wow. I think 360 and Untitled just felt the earth stop ! An impressive 3rd player. FINALLY !
Brillstein and 3arts are better than Untitled and 360.
well now anonymous is in play to wipe the floor with all of them hehe… nice move Lipp, Wald and Chang! smart list
wow! did NOT see that coming–well played Anon et al
A bomb indeed. What a list to start with. A solid Management company with those three and a strong lit and production side means endless possibilities. Well played guys. Congrats Lipp. Who would have known this is the story you’ve been planning.
Guess where I’m sending my clients ? To you guys. What a list.
Sandra is smart and great to work with.
Congrats folks!

Anonymous is a powerhouse.
Fantastic move by Anonymous! Doug Wald is an exceptional manager and one of the best guys in the industry.
Brillstein is great if it is 1986. They are awful now.
3 Arts has always been second rate. With the addition of Tom Lassally they actually dropped a bit more. He’s not a manager.
Anonymous is about quality as is 360. Good for them. But, most clients don’t get they’d be better of with a solo manager. You don’t need a management agency. These clients are usually insecure in their talents.
3 arts and Brillstein aren’t great? Stack their top clients against anybody else and lets see who comes out on top… Also stack the representatives. Klein, Rotenberg, Gurvitz, Pett, Keshishian, Shyn, Soff, Wernick, Sarkes, Colonna, and Sussman… the list can go on and on. It speaks for itself.
Trust me. That are not that great if you are talent or more so if you are a writer and/or director. Writers who couldn’t get with the others end up there. The wannabees. The true talents are not there.
Watch out. More to come….
you’re drunk… and stuck in 2001.
Sandra is a class act. Smart, strategic and passionate about her clients.
So happy for her – I’ve watched her rise in the business and she is so deserving…
Game changer.
ho hum names
JOHN CARRABINO RULES!!!!
Who is John Carrabino?
Those three should have been approached be others, but congrats for doing it your way. Doug is a class act; Sandra has been a fighter and has achieved tremendous success. Rarely do I say this, but CAA is making an error by not keeping Lipp. A class act, watching behind the scenes as his clients walked the red carpet and did “real work”. With a flourishing personal life for the past two years I am sure he is making a well deserved move in the right direction. Congrats to Anonymous for making this deal.
Very well said. Although they are great, Lipp was a nice contrast to the Toth and Lubin types.
What are Toth and Lubin like?
Anonymous and 360 are on top. They don’t sign anyone, they choose those they know will pop, and they are great in-house. Anonymous needed a better talent roster to match their amazing writer/director list. Good move.
Incredible talent list. Doug Wald has shown once again why he has the biggest balls in the business (not a euphemism.)
This is really great for Anonymous. They are the classiest joint in town.
“The trio will lead….” Does anyone besides me recognize how ominous those four little words can be? Let’s see how all of this sorts itself out before declaring Anonymous the heavyweight champion of the world.
Yeah Golin! Yeah Sugar!
This is the perfect storm! Doug Wald is the greatest manager in the business and I know from having been his client. Anonymous Content is an A-list firm that gets projects made. Together, they will take the town.
Are people on here really calling Sandra a class act? A new job post pops up on the UTA job list every two months because she can’t find someone to deal with her daily abuse. Great manager? Maybe. Class act? Not at all.
THANK YOU and well said!
My friend worked for her, he lasted a week. The one before him lasted just 2 weeks. Rough desk.
All true – great manager, bitch to work for
Good things happen to good people! Golin is the greatest. He has slowly and patiently grown Anonymous without subjecting his staff to a horrible stressful environment of misery. Hail Steve, Diane, Morrison, Alix and anyone else remaining from the beginning ( including clients who have been loyal for a decade like Epps). Hail Sugar and the new breed for the perfectly timed energy transfusion…Here’s hoping the good karma Steve has accrued over the years keeps paying great dividends! No one is more deserving.
As a former client of Doug Wald he only cares about his big names clients, so everyone needs to stop kissing his ass.
Love my guy at Anonymous Content. More power to ‘em… and by association… me!
