CNN’s Brooke Anderson has been named co-anchor of CBS Television Distribution’s daily showbiz newsmagazine The Insider. She will join co-anchor Kevin Frazier in May. Anderson replaces Lara Spencer, who is leaving in May to return to ABC News’ Good Morning America. Anderson has been at CNN since 2000, currently covering entertainment for the main network and co-hosting Showbiz Tonight on sister channel HLN.

I only know who Brooke is because my husband watches Showbiz Tonight. She’s grown on me. I find her to be very likeable. I hope she has a chance to show herself more on Insider. I also wish I knew where to tune in to The Insider! I don’t know that show either, but I would like to see her in her new venue.

I’d take Brooke over Lara, but neither are on the top of my lists for journalists. Showbiz Tonight was a poorly written overly exaggerated show and I’ll admit to changing from HLN when it would start. Brooke’s voice and pauses annoyed me to no avail. The Insider isn’t much better, but at least she’s not doing that dramatization thing.
I watch GMA and i can honestly say i’m not sure why Lara is there. If it weren’t for the plethora of a-level celebs they book, I’m sure I’d watch CBS instead.
