EXCLUSIVE: CAA has just signed Mark Strong, the British actor who has fast become a go-to guy for dramas, especially those with great bad guys. Strong, who had been repped at ICM, will next be seen in the Martin Campbell-directed Green Lantern for Warner Brothers. He’s also in Disney’s John Carter Of Mars opposite Taylor Kitsch for Disney, and the Tomas Alfredson-directed Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy for Universal, opposite Gary Oldman and Tom Hardy. His recent credits include the Peter Weir-directed The Way Back, the Ridley Scott-directed Robin Hood, and the Guy Ritchie-directed Sherlock Holmes (he also starred in Ritchie’s Rock N Rolla). Strong stays with his UK agents at Markham, Froggatt and Irwin.

that’s a strong sign
I’ve mixed him up with Andy Garcia more times than I want to admit…both fantastic actors.
So three weeks from now, we’ll be reading that he’s in contention for the Transporter series, right? Laying the groundwork?
Great actor, strong sign. No pun intended.
Fantastic actor, always good in anything he does.
Nice, I can only imagine this means good things for his career if they play his cards right. I’ve always been a Mark Strong fan. If you’ve forgotten about his performance in Syriana, it’s worth another look. He’s fantastic.
It’s a good thing for Strong’s career that he left ICM…. ICM is a ghost town in the talent department, and if they have any sense Jon Hamm, Jesse Eisenberg and Melissa Leo whose careers are still on the up and up should follow suit and abandon ship.
why leave his agent if his career is going so well?
what is wrong with actors?
Sometimes there’s more to the story than we know BUT….when an agency help a client “fast become a go-to guy for dramas, especially those with great bad guys” why would he fire ICM? I can tell you why…he is an insecure fool and I presume was seduced by the BS spin of CAA and he will in no time at all realize that ICM is looking pretty damn good. I am not the biggest Carol Bodie fan on a personal level. However, she is one hell of an agent and has done amazing work for this guy.
One of my favorite actors, great range, should be promoted as a leading man. But if he wants to keep playing bad guys, I think he’d make a helluva General Zod.
Maybe Hamm Eisenberg & Leo get noticed as well as work at ICM?
Am I the only one who thinks this guy is pretty bland. From SHERLOCK to ROBIN HOOD, he just doesn’t have much range.
Great actor but has taken too many bad guy roles. Give amazing actors like Benedict Cumberbatch a chance in Hollywood.
