CAA has signed Vanessa Hudgens, who graduated from the High School Musical films to star in the features Bandslam, the Zack Snyder-directed Sucker Punch and the CBS Films fairy tale Beastly. She just finished shooting Journey 2: The Mysterious Island for New Line. She separately played Mimi in the Hollywood Bowl production of Rent and has released two albums. She had been with WME and continues to be managed by Untitled.

Agree regarding Julie who with all of my dealings with her is a class act. Vanessa is actually talented maybe CAA will be able to find the right thing for her.
Are they CRAZY?? This girl’s career is heading nowhere, and I guess CAA is choosing to be oblivious. People, for lack of a better term, need to stop making Vanessa “happen.” She is forced down the public’s throats and they have responded quite clearly by not making Beastly or I am Number 4 box office slam dunks.

Only I Am Number Four had nothing to do with her…. that was all flash-in-the-pan Alex Pettyfer and Glee’s Dianna Agron; I’ll give you Beastly though. However, while Beastly may not have topped the box office, it was already in the black due to foreign pre-sale, and turned a profit in its second week so

what does ‘Im a number 4′ have to do with this? and actually ‘beastly’ has made more than ezpected! (it was a low-budget movie, and premiered in just about 1000 cinemas! and it placed great in the bo office! better than ‘I am number 4′ <- which has nothing to do with Vanessa)
Better than I Am Number Four? To date, I Am Number Four, the Alex Pettyfer movie without Vanessa Hudgens, has double the domestic gross of Beastly, and has grossed $100 million more than Beastly worldwide.

Actually, her performances in both those films were good. She was the glue (her and the amazing Harris) that made Beastly work. And unfortunately for Sucker Punch, and its poorly twisted and confusing plot (which had nothing to do with the talent), it failed her, but she didn’t fail it.
Idk, but hopefully good things come from this for her. She works hard and she’s different than your typical blond hair blue-eyed scene stealer in Hollywood.
She grows on you.

All her projects from HSM to Sucker Punch have displayed her limited abilities as an actress. The only positive review she gets is “she is pretty”.
She’s incredibly boring but not thoroughly unlikable like some young actresses. Can’t she be a vampire on some CW show? Let’s all hope she doesn’t decide to take the “serious actress” route although I see a druggie hooker role in her future somewhere. And an interview in Elle Girl about the research she did to prepare for the role…
Out of the HSM lot, she’s not doing too bad. Ashley Tisdale’s career doesn’t seem to be going anywhere (and out of all of them, I thought she’d have the best career), Zac Efron seems to be stuck in romantic dramas that involve him taking his shirt off and the rest don’t seem to be doing anything of note. Vanessa at least seems to be doing diverse roles. She isn’t playing the same role in the same genre all the time. At least she’s trying and the fact that she’s moved shows she’s not happy about how things are going and wants to change it.
I hope it works out for her as they are too many generic white blondes in Hollywood. It’s nice to see some ethnicity in there sometimes.
I totally agree with Allie, there are too many generic blondes in movies – enough already. Vanessa has a very beautiful look. She is talented and works hard so I really hope she gets a good break.

her break came a long time ago and is called HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL. The girl is cute but in a Disney way just like all the other Disney actors. She has too many scandals to be taken seriously and the fact that people still realte her with Zac Efron will forever make her “the girl that dated….”. Zac’s team will continue to embarras her like they did every time she had a movie to promote and she will never make it. Blame it in PR but Zac’s the one that’s going to make it, not this girl.
