Charlie Sheen has been hinting about a possible return to Two and a Half Men for the past week. Tonight, he dropped the biggest hint so far in a radio interview with Boston sports station WBZ-FM. “There’ve been discussions, but I was asked not to divulge anything,” he said of a potential comeback, which is being complicated by the $100 million lawsuit Sheen filed against Warner Bros TV and Men co-creator Chuck Lorre as well as the slew of vicious insults he has fired off against both. During his first New York show Friday, Sheen extended an olive branch to Lorre. “Of course, I want my job back,” he said then. In another sign of contrition, in tonight’s interview Sheen seemed to acknowledge he had crossed a line. “Had they told me at the end of Season 8 that that behavior wasn’t going to be cool, I would have adjusted it,” he said. Helping Sheen’s case somewhat is the fact that CBS’ Monday lineup has taken a ratings hit lately with no original Men. Meanwhile, Sheen also said he is not getting syndication payments for Men now that he has been fired from the show and embroiled in litigation with the studio behind it.

Even if the insults and the public nature of them got forgiven, there’s already been too much press, including in the New York Times, about how CBS basically enabled a serial menacer of women for years. The blowback if they shrug it off again would be nothing that Viacom needs or wants.

It will be back. With all the publicity, the show’s ratings will go through the roof. And that’s an opportunity neither side can afford to miss.
So he’s fired in this big media standoff, and now they’re just going to re-hire him? Wow…show’s how desperate some of these execs are for quality programming. Two and a Half Men was practically cooked and finished anyways when it got old 6 years ago.

I am a big supporter of having emotional tirades and outbursts then making up. As the French say in French, Such is life. Not everyone can be a put together Pilgrim or No Drama Obama.
They can’t take him back because they will be looking like and idiots. And the main reason why they can’t take him back is because it’s not like he went to rehab or psychiatrists and got help. He is the same crazy lunatic he was month ago. Who probably does drugs and drinks all days. Which means that if they will hire him back then it’s only matter of time before he will have another meltdown and will stop show up at work again.
And when they fired him they saved those $40 millions per year that he was having as salary. And when they will recast his role with actor who will get much less money the some viewers may not return but still that show will probably get around 10 million viewers.
This is typical of bipolar behavior – the raging high and then somewhere on the descent there is something that almost seems rational and that includes attempts to repair the damage of the high and then it goes into depression. If CBS gives him his job back they may put off the plunge but they can not stop it.
Behavior like assault, open drug use, flaunting your floozies, bashing your friends, ex wives, family members and former co workers, publicizing your rants on the internet is more than behavior that is “not cool” – it is not normal.
The only “discussions” that CBS should be having about taking Sheen back are “fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me” – he has not changed and will not change without intervention and help. They put together a successful sitcom once and they can do it again. Sheen needs help.
I was under the impression that they made it pretty clear that “the behavior was not going to be cool” but they didn’t make it stick or he didn’t believe it. I agree–an adult doesn’t need to be told how to behave professionally.
Nowhere no time in TV history has anyone been brought back to a show after they crapped all over the creator and the studio with insults and lawsuits. If he’s brought back, it just shows that he has the goods on somebody; a hidden sex tape? A tape showing Lorre is snorting coke? Something is out there and Charlie has it.
Losing?? All the way to the bank! The joke’s on you. Sheen is selling out arenas all across the country and will land his old show back or be wooed by another network. I think that’s called Winning.
Charlie Sheen was already offered $5Mil per episode to do a show on HBO, which typically runs 11 episode seasons, so that’s $55Mil per year for about 2 months of shooting.. $15Mil a year raise for 1/2 the work? I’d say that’s WINNING!
As for the drug use, being bi-polar, etc… So what? Look at Robert Downey Jr. He’s still high as a kite in every movie he makes, and he’s one of the highest paid and best actors in Hollywood. Some people actually perform better on drugs.. they get into their character for real. Now Charlie just has to play a toned down version of himself on 2 and 1/2 men.. Maybe HBO will let him film at the house, and leave the lines on the table and the porn stars in the room. Personally, I’d rather see that.

Ya know, there’s an easy solution to making two or three SERIES ending episodes, if Charlie Sheen doesn’t wanna come back to 2 1/2 Men?
IDEA:
The next episode of 2 1/2 Men starts with this title card – “In a drunken binge, Charlie fell off his barstool and badly hit his head, breaking his nose and lightly fracturing his skull”
At that point, we go to Alan and Herb, who are picking up Charlie from the hospital – Charlie has bandages wrapped all over his face (kinda like The Invisible Man – thus, Charlie Sheen doesn’t have to play him) the drama is that we don’t know how bad Charlie’s injuries are…. his face could be perfect, or utterly disfigured – the doctors just don’t know how he’ll turn out and Alan is freaking out over it
From there, the usual hijinks follows, of course – Charlie asks Alan to stop at the bar, so he can pick up women, despite his bandages, etc etc etc — Herb asks Charlie for love advice, with no consideration for Charlie’s injury, etc etc etc
Upon hearing that Charlie’s face could be completely disfigured, Rose bails – all along, she just liked Charlie for his looks, nothing else – they break up, a mutual seperation
Anyways – Mia comes by to check on Charlie (I never was a fan of Chelsea) and upon seeing her, bandages and all, Charlie realizes that Mia is everything he wants
We end the series with Mia and Charlie on the porch, looking out at the ocean — Charlie says to Mia, “How could you want to spend your life with me? You don’t know what I look like? You can’t even see me???”
To that, Mia responds, “Charlie (Sheen), I don’t have to see you… I just know I love you”
END SERIES!
Okay – that’s my best idea – I’m a loyal 2 1/2 Men fan and I think I speak for all of us fans when I say, it’s not more seasons that we need, we want is a finale and closure to what is, the finest comedy show ever made – love and peace all!

Why wouldn’t he be getting syndication payments — those shows he already starred in — does he risk losing those payments if he loses the lawsuit? That doesn’t seem right.
The network has likely got a clause in their contract with him that gives them the right to withhold any syndication payments or other revenue due to breach of contract.. Which is probably, at least in part, the basis for his lawsuit.. I doubt he’s as concerned with the cast as he is with the millions he is losing now. The Hollywood celebrity lifestyle isn’t cheap to begin with, and Charlie takes spending to the extreme.. plus he has alimony, child support, etc.. He probably needs $30Mil a year just to get by.. that’s not even counting the drugs and hookers.. and those aren’t cheap either, let me tell you. Especially if you want coke pure enough to smoke without cooking it first -:).
Good for him. And the rest of the cast and everybody actually.
But with all this now i would like him to return to movies, he has great charisma and can still be a successful movie star with the good projects, screenplays, directors.
I hope that they finally cancel this series. I am bored of it. Charlie Sheen had such a promising career and I am so disappointed to see the direction that his life and career has gone. He has done some great movies in his time such as Wall Street (1987), The Three Musketeers (1993), The Arrival (1996), Shadow Conspiracy (1997), Postmortem (1998), etc. I always wanted him to just do mainstream movies, particularly serious films and dramas, try to reach his full potential as an actor, join the A-list and try to win an Oscar. But now I have just given up on him. He hasn’t surpassed his father, Martin Sheen who still gets better roles and does bigger movies and he has become the laughing stock of Hollywood.

Keep your big mouth shut, and let your ‘people’ negotiate for you. That’s why you pay them.

OK, we know that Charlie is either one of the most narcissistic people in the history of humankind or a complete psychopath so criticizing his behavior is akin to shooting fish in a paper cup, but there’s something just sad and pathetic about how a month after all the Tiger Blood and Winning talk he is now kissing ass left and right. Next, he’ll be sponsoring Chuck Lorre for a humanitarian award. I liked angry Charlie so much more than lapdog Charlie. In his next stage show he should come out with a dog leash on.
