EXCLUSIVE: Lionsgate has set Doug Aarniokoski to direct The Nurse 3D, a genre film that will shoot this summer. The plot: a smoking hot nurse with emotional baggage tends to the sick by day, but uses her charms to seduce and then murder philandering men. Aarniokoski is in postproduction on The Day, an indie that stars Shawn Ashmore, Dominic Monaghan and Ashley Bell. He also signed to helm The Black Phantom for Screen Gems after serving as second unit director on Takers and Resident Evil: Extinction. The director’s repped by WME and Principato Young.

Can the “3D” title trend end finally? It not only sounds ridiculous, but officially moves into absurdity if the film is being viewed in regular format. The public can fully understand a film is presented in 3D if its mentioned in the advertising; there’s no need to dedicate the title as well.
because this movie screams be shot in 3D. oy.
Well, if there was ever a movie that could sound the death knell for 3D, it would be this one.
No Piranha 3DD will be the end.
No film with a DD in it ever ended anything.
I was submitted this script. Worst. Script. Ever. Needs a massive overhaul, but Sacchi actually thinks it’s good. It’s going to make MY BLOODY VALENTINE look like CITIZEN KANE.
I don’t blame the director, though. It doesn’t look like he’ll be able to re-write it. I can’t hate on a guy taking a studio(ish?) job. I don’t know him, but congrats Doug, good luck.
I read this a while ago. A real good genre film. Well done. Love Doug Aarniokoski.
The Truth. Why would anyone submit a script to you. Are you a director. No. Are you someone impersonating a hollywood exec YES. The comments are typically from failed writer who hate othes who can. Much easier to hate others than to successful in your own life.
Secondly, scripts can undergo rewrites…. maybe you were submitted an earlier draft which wasn’t where it needed to be and the writer has since done a rewrite.
To Anonymous: Yes, I’m a director. Am I someone impersonating a Hollywood (see how you are supposed to capitalize the name of a place properly) exec? No. I don’t hate on anyone. In fact, did you see the last part of my post where I wished the director good luck? Fact is, directing is the hardest thing in the world to do in my opinion, so I wish anyone good luck who gets to do it. And that’s 100% sincere. I root for my peers, not against them.
I was submitted this three months ago. It was awful. Sacchi thinks it’s great. We disagreed. End of story.
Lastly, Anonymous, are you in idiot? Clearly. Now learn how to construct a sentence and get your fucking shine box.
Mr. Director saw Goodfellas.
Great title. Sounds like a fun little genre pic. Check your minds at the door & buckle up.
I love Doug!! Very talented, and I can’t wait to see how this turns out
Doug is the best director out there! Congrats.
This sounds like the kind of project that execs lose their jobs over. I read this script a while ago and i’m shocked LG is making this. The script wasn’t awful, i just can’t imagine who would want to see this movie. Someone must be sticking their neck out, and Sacchi could be in trouble after this one. Although LG seems to be good at absorbing horrible films and not blaming their execs.that being said, it’s better than any script Tyler Perry has ever written.
