Ellen Page has made a deal to join Woody Allen’s next film. Deadline told you Monday about Alec Baldwin and Jesse Eisenberg starring, and Penelope Cruz had been announced in early April. The pic shoots in Rome.
Page has been busy. She plays a psychopath superhero sidekick alongside Rainn Wilson in the James Gunn-directed Super, a film that is being rolled out by IFC after it acquired the film at Toronto last fall. Page is also attached to Freeheld, a Ron Nyswaner-scripted feature adaptation of the Oscar-winning documentary.

Excellent! She seems to be perfect actress for Woody Allen film.
And the international sales company is…. ?
What a doll. Loved her since Hard Candy.
Boooooring- couldnt they have hired a better young girl? one trick pony….except I really liked her in “An American Crime”. Otherwise, shes too snarky
Her career not doing to well…Whip It flopped, Peacock went straight to dvd and Super not doing super in limited release…good thing she was Inception
Ellen Page a snarky one-trick pony? Watch her in “Super” go in a very different direction.
Even after Scott Pilgrim and Youth in Revolt, people still call Michael Cera a one-trick pony.
Hated her in Hard Candy which was wildly over-rated. And all those close-ups of her yellow teeth! Gracious! She’s gotten more interesting since then. Then again I refuse to watch Juno because I don’t watch movies written by sex workers or that star the talentless Jason Bateman.
You sound like a pretty negative person.
I feel like you’re missing out on most of life.
She was half-asleep through the movie about dreams itself- Inception – terrible!
She couldn’t even fake curiosity, let alone inspire mine!
Reewr, why so catty, Kate?
could this be an eisenberg-page romantic comedy? that would be cool
Good to see Ellen working with Woody Allen. This should be an interesting collaboration
Cannot understand all the surliness towards Ellen. She is one of the best young talents around. It is so funny to hear all these people trash “Juno” now, when they went to see it en masse and heaped all kinds of praise for it….it’s like those people that get on those VH1 shows and claim they did not like so-and-so’s song when they actually bought the CD and tried to sneak in their hotel room to get shaggy with it.
Also, Whip It was a very good movie. I guess because it did not have pasty-skin guys gnawing on necks it did not draw big numbers…or some of the posters on here.
Based on Ms. Juno’s reputation she and Baldwin will likely be at each other’s throats if they have any scenes together. Hope Woody knows what he’s in for hiring that man.
She’s an excellent actress
