HBO’s new authenticated online video services, HBO GO and MAX GO, will be available to DirecTV customers beginning tomorrow, April 12, free for HBO subscribers. The services, which offer more than 1400 programs online (current and library titles), have been expanding their reach and will soon be available on iPad, iPhone and other Mac-based platforms.

If HBO offered a monthly subscription service, with streaming of current shows, cutting out the need for a cable distributor, I’d cancel my cable service ASAP. Everything else I watch I could get from streaming on Hulu, Netflix, etc. The price of cable is ridiculous these days.
If HBO has any marketing sense, they will allow customers to sign up via a subscription service for on-line only. I do not use cable.
Having their library streaming beats anything Netflix has to offer. Well played.
Well HBO GO is not announcing the other streaming partners for this service so I will here:
AT&T U-verse
Comcast
Cox
Suddenlink
Works well on my HS DSL. They say on the site you have to have 3MB or better to use the service.
