Chris Diamantopoulos has emerged as the frontrunner to play Moe in The Three Stooges, the 20th Century Fox film to be directed by Peter and Bobby Farrelly. The choice is being made after the directors met thousands of candidates to play the stern patriarch of the Stooges clan. The Farrellys said they would search high and low until they found the right Moe. Diamantopoulos is handsome, but put a soup-bowl haircut on him and he could be a spitting image. He joins Will Sasso, who’s playing Curly, and Sean Hayes, who signed on recently to play Larry Fine.

He’s good! Great role on 24.
Can’t wait to pay $30 dollars for this on DirecTV!
He is amazing!!!!
Great casting! can wait to see how this shapes up now that they have Moe.
Finally! They find their Stooge & we get to see Chris Diamantopoulos in a role worthy of his skills.
He’s awesome! Great choice!!
Awesome! I can’t wait to see this film. chris is such a great guy too.
I hope they prove me wrong – but the whole idea of a 3 Stooges movie – yikes!
Chris is a rising star! Loved him on 24!
Congrats to Chris! He’s so talented and will do a great job in the role.
Awesome. I really liked him on 24 and have been waiting to see him in more stuff! Good find.
Rick Montgomery is a great casting director. He really searches high and low for the best and has excellent taste.
Nothing against Mr. D but this is now officially a TV movie.
love me some Chris D. super talented and hilarious!
Great casting! Can’t wait to see this!!
Sean Hayes as Larry? See, if I were casting people to look as close as possible to the original Stooges, I’d cast David Paymer as Larry in a heartbeat. Their faces are the same! Will Sasso will more than likely make a good Curly, and I really think they could find a better Moe. They’ll do what they want, though. Who’s playing Shemp?
am I the only one that thinks this whole thing sounds like a huge waste of money. Most young people have no idea who the three stooges are. So I assume this movie is geared towards an older crowd?
I’ve heard this guy is spot on as Moe and that seems to be the most important thing to satisfy purists while also keeping the project fresh. Good for the Farrellys for sticking to their guns and going after the best version they could find of Moe.
Lesser known fact is that Chris D. is also an outstanding singing talent!
Diamantopoulos is not exactly a newcomer, and he did, after all, also use his great skills of mimicry to play Robin Williams in a 2005 TV movie about “Mork & Mindy.”
It’s difficult to find big names that can fit into roles like the Stooges. I think the Farrellys finally decided that comic ability would more important than trying to shoehorn a celebrity into the movie. This guy’s clearly talented, and Sasso’s a funny guy too, as, of course, is Sean Hayes. Let’s hope this all works and we get something truly interesting.
I can’t wait 2 sea this movie, I’m 26 yrs old I grew up on the black n white 3 stooges episodes hope that this movie delivers the same feel, but i dislike that the jersey shore crap is n hear there not the most popular show around
