I have no clue what this movie is about… i guess that doesn’t matter.
This looks awesome. Hate that it’s in 3D though. God I hope the 3D madness ends soon. Michael Bay is an amazing film maker, no matter what all the film snob haters on this site are bound to say. I hope his next movie is Bad Boys 3!
lol…
Another trailer clearly inspired by the Inception trailer
As for Michael Bay… he still sucks. But don’t feel sorry for him, this movie is gonna make a fortune.
sure the sound design is close, but the trailers for these movies have always been kinda stylized in the same way
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=maPFhlFfJG8
Great ear. Except trailers for the Bay’s first Transformers films did it first with the sound design you’re referring to. Inception just took it to greater heights, to the extent that it’s mimicked throughout trailer world today – though not yet cliche.
How is this anything like the trailer for Inception?
Have we seriously started to call advertisements rip-offs now?
Looks boring. But what did I expect?
Boring? I can think of a bunch of negative things to say about this movie, but boring?? What are you smoking?
“Transformers 2″ was one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. This trailer has told me where I will be sitting on July 1st irregardless of that fact.
ITA me too
Yes, boring. Explosions with no plot are boring. I tried to watch the first Transformers twice and fell asleep during the movie both times. Didn’t even bother with the second after the horrendous reviews came in…
Best Fg movie of the year. Bay rules. CAN. NOT. WAIT!
My head hurts already. No thanks.
The last one was the perfect example of why you need someone to tell the director “No” every so often. This looks like more of the same.
Doesn’t have to be good and still will make a billion
They got me again, dammit. I’m there. Certain to have my heart broken like the first movie, then pissed all over like the second.
@ i’m a sucker. Not me. The first wasn’t what I wanted to see from a TF movie but it was overall a good film. The 2nd was Charles Barkley – turrible. Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice … I won’t get fooled again.
Steve Jablonsky amazing film scores are my only motivation…
Bayformers 3!
Think I will find something else to watch.
Garbage in Garbage out
Looks great! Can’t wait for the RiffTrax!
Bay set the bar so low with Transformers 2 that this can only be better…but, I will leave others to plunk down their dollars to see it.
Big box office dollars for lots of noise and crashing robots and destruction…been there…done that….enjoy?
From the trailer it looks like they want to make this one heavier & hardcore … Bay’s Dark Knight?
Haha, good one.
hahahhahahahah
I’m ok with these movies. Bay is a jerk but whatever. Plenty of jerks in my business. But I will say this: I truly thought this was the trailer for #2 and a joke. Outside of the moon stuff, It looks exactly the same.
Looks somewhere between Transformers (awful) and Transformers 2 (really really awful).
I predict it will be really awful.
truly indicative…………..?
I’d say after this franchise is over, so is Shia’s career.
thought the same thing after even stevens was over, yet here he remains…
I find it annoying that Paramount/KO includes paratroopers in free fall and tentacled spaceships–exactly like STAR TREK. It’s condescending or sad. The INCEPTION-like sound design is almost inevitable.
Gee, “direction” by Michael Bay, a “script” by Ehren Kruger but no Megan Fox to look at. The worst of all worlds.
I think it’s disgusting that they’re putting this tasteless crap out just 2 months before the 10-year anniversary of September 11th. I mean, seriously, it’s just not fun entertainment anymore to watch a skyscraper fall over (and this is from someone who used to love The Towering Inferno). I didn’t enjoy it in Megamind, and I certainly don’t enjoy it here.
Not only is it 2 months before the 10th anniversary of September 11th, its EXACTLY 235 years from the anniversary of our independence day! The swine! IS NOTHING SACRED???!?!!!
I’M a New Yorker and it just annoys me now when a cataclysm in a movie set in NY is called insensitive by anyone
That ain’t NYC, son. Chi-town represent, baby!
I’M a guy who visited the world trade center once, and I approve this thread.
It’s Chicago, not New York.
It’s set in Chicago, open your eyes!
And I’m terribly curious to see if anyone has the nerve to tell me “to chill out” or “it’s only a movie”. Clearly those people weren’t in New York when it happened and have no connection to anyone who was murdered on that day.
I think this is just disgraceful.
Yeah, I felt the same way about that scene in “Black Swan” when Nina burns down the commune full of Chistians. Even though it was just Natalie Portman’s stand-in doing the actual torching, it had too many echoes of Waco for me to enjoy the movie afterward.
You’re right — and there should never be a movie where someone gets stabbed or shot with a gun ever again either… Because there are millions of people who’ve suffered that fate and any time we film it, it’s like opening the wound fresh for any family members or descendants of anyone ever shot or stabbed. And no car accidents either. Or plane crashes. Or drownings — please no drownings. And don’t ever show a baby being stillborn. And let’s see what else… Oh yeah, no sex. Cuz that might make too many people think of rape. Or herpes. Both suck. And both you know, kinda involve sex. And nobody looking at another person. Cuz sometimes it’s just annoying when people look at each other. And absolutely no eating in movies. Cuz that’s just rude to fat people. They get all hungry in the theaters and shit. Then they fart and it fucking sucks for everyone around them. And no goddamn Reses Pieces ever ever ever… Cuz we all know the reason there’s never been an ET part 2 is because that poor little bastard choked to death on that candy as soon as he popped a handful back in his spaceship. And no pubic hair trimming gags, cuz sometimes that shit goes wrong and nobody out there with uneven pubes or a nicked pecker needs to be reminded. And definitely forgo any shots of people on the toilet dropping deuces. Because that’s just gross anyway, but it always reminds me of the time I shit blood. And that’s a painful memory.
Everything else is cool.
I grew up in a ‘burb of NYC and was there when 9/11 went down and have lived in NYC for the past 6 years. Know several friends and many others in town that lost parents & siblings. Awful stuff. But yeah…this? Not 9/11. People have been murdered in lots of ways that are depicted in movies…do you storm out of every movie that has a nuke in it?
I’ll say it. Murder is rampant in film, as is rape, drug abuse and every other horrid thing there is. Final destination and Saw are built on death -and so is every horror flick out there.
Out of curiosity, when would be a good time to show a sky scrapper crumble?
For the record, I was in NY that day, and I’m saying playing the 911 card like this shows NO respect for my friends – so out of respect, please do not compare a blockbuster movie to 911, because it’s grotesque to the survivors.
Thanks.
match.point to Bill O.
I’ll be front and center… as soon as it premiers on cable.
Is this a trailer for the second or third Transformer’s movie? They all look the same.
