New British game show Sing If You Can, described as the Wipeout of singing competitions, is close to finding a U.S. TV home. Zodiak USA had already been pitching an American version of its format, landing two offers from U.S. networks. Then the series premiered on ITV on Saturday, Britain’s highest-rated TV night, with 5.4 million viewers to rank as the network’s biggest unscripted series premiere in two years. That immediately boosted interest among U.S. broadcasters who have been looking for new game show formats. In the original UK version, hosted by comedian Keith Lemon and Stacey Solomon, two celebrity teams try to keep singing popular songs despite major distractions. What kind of distractions? Performing a song from a specially designed erupting volcano or doing a solo while having one’s chest waxed are two examples. After an audience vote, one of the teams goes to the end round, while one celebrity from the losing team is plunged into a giant water tank. In a twist, the U.S. version that is being pitched is a non-celebrity one.

Please tell me this is some sort of April Fool, the US networks can not seriously be looking at airing this pile of rubbish.
THE END OF TV AS WE KNOW IT?
God this is the biggest pile of bantha doo doo ever! I lasted 10 minutes before switching it off and from what I heard I didn’t miss much.
“Hot”…is slightly overstating things.
The 1st show was only on at the weekend and it is hardly the subject of everyones conversations..!!
I was just telling my bud the other day, “You know what’s missing from TV right now? Singing contests! why don’t the networks get more of those on the air???? And after that, they need to get to work on some dancing shows.”
Saturday night needs some light hearted entertainment and i thoroughly enjoyed the programme. that was until to-night. it was a foregone conclusion who would win to-night. ray quinn doesn’t play if he can’t win. lisa maxwell was every bit as good if not better. he wouldn’t have been playing if he’d had to have been dunked or water poured on him.
