I love Logo. Just its existence makes me happy.
I totally agree.
Does this mean Drag University is cancelled?
The new season of “Drag U” begins June 20th on LOGO.
Let’s pray it is. That show was horrid and has caused this season of RUPAUL to be horrible with the exception of the beautiful and talented RAJA!
I’ve heard season 2 has been retooled, and is going to be much better!
excuse your beauty. season 3 of drag race is the best one yet!
I’ll have to disagree with you. This season wasn’t good and I’m hoping that next season will be better…
Season 3 was the best, I agree!
Just what we need, more “A List.” Another season of vapid, disgusting, lowest-common-denominator gay guys pretending to be hot and connected. Why not just call it “The Big Gay Minstrel Show”?
I agree the A List is disgusting!
The A List New York is a joke. Those tired queens are C list at best. Much of the show is staged. I think the Dallas show will be better.
Agreed – gay men pretending to be Bravo housewives? Intolerable and sets back gay rights about 50 years.
No, Zach, RuPauls Drag U is not cancelled. Season two is coming up this June.
As a gay man I couldn’t be more contemptuous of LOGO — an alleged “gay” network that does nothing but perpetuate the very worst gay stereotypes. The A List was embarrassing garbage. Any gay person who works at LOGO should be ashamed of themselves for perpetuating the image of gay men as vapid shallow sex maniacs. Imagine the (justifiable) outcry there would be in the African American community if BET’s programming contained black stereotypes equivalent to what LOGO assaults us with. There is so much positive programming LOGO could be providing both the the gay and straight communities. Why is the Dan Savage show going to be on MTV? Instead LOGO panders to the lowest common denominator with train wreck reality dreck.
BET, another Viacom outlet, certainly has had its share of promoting African-Amercan stereotypes as well. LOGO had promise in the beginning, but it is pretty insulting. It’s par for the course though. Most television shows pander to the lowest-common denominator and insult its audience.
Look at Lifetime, supposedly television for women. It should be Lifetime, television for misogynists! Many of Lifetime’s movies are devoted to women being beaten, abused and murdered.
Like BET, I think LOGO has to see that original program that’s good can attract an audience. They tend to follow rather than lead. So, the first time something scripted produces big numbers, you can expect something like The Game to happen with LOGO.
As a gay man (and one that lived in San Francisco), I can assure you that many gay men ARE like the characters depicted on A-List. Yes, there are sexually driven gay men (as well as straight men, that’s nothing knew). Yes, there are bitchy queens with a flare for drama.
Don’t forget, however, Mike Ruiz was also a cast member. Honestly, I can’t think of a better role model/spokesperson for the gay community than Mike. He is talented, grounded, and mature and created NO drama. He’s successful, partnered, and charitable. But who would watch if everyone got along? It’s REALITY TELEVISION people! Only an idiot would turn to reality television to establish their opinions on a group of people. Do you think ALL people from New Jersey are like the characters on Jersey Shore? Reality TV is all about exploiting stereotypes for entertainment.
They need to bring back Noah’s Arc. I don’t watch reality television, and Logo needs more scripted television.
Pretty Hurts is going to be fun. Go Logo.
