NBC will extend Steve Carell’s final episode of The Office to 50 minutes. The farewell episode will air April 28 from 9-9:50 PM. The Office‘s lead-out, Parks and Recreation, also will air a supersized episode, from 9:50-10:30 PM. 30 Rock will close out the night for NBC from 10:30-11 PM, with freshman Outsourced being preempted. Carell’s last episode on The Office was written by executive producer/showrunner Greg Daniels, who developed the NBC series, and directed by Paul Feig. Will Ferrell guest stars.

the show jumped the shark years ago and is now so unfunny and repetitive thank God he is leaving to go do more stellar work like Date Night.
So sad to see him go.
Didn’t Jeff Zucker get criticized for supersizing episodes of NBC shows? Why is Bob Greenblatt doing the same thing? stupid.
Are you for real? Why wouldn’t you try to squeeze more commercial time for this one time only event? Try not to be so bitter.
I can’t understand why they just didn’t go the full hour.
The series has ran it’s course. Krasiniski, Wilson, and Fischer are phoning it in like Elizabeth Montogomery did when Dick Sargent replaced Dick York on “Bewitched”.
Yes, the office is unbearable yet it still gets ratings. Am sure Steve feels like he’s getting a get out of jail free card.
Anything that preempts that dreck Outsourced for a week in all good in my book.
I simply can´t believe he´s leaving, he is the very soul of the show and this is a real masterpiece. Without him there is no office at all. I wish him the best and thank Steve for many years of unbearable work.
