Eight months after its original premiere date, NBC’s hourlong anthology comedy Love Bites will debut in its original Thursday 10 PM time slot. Love Bites‘ premiere is set for June 2. Once a high-flying prospect, Love Bites was prominently featured at NBC’s updront presentation last May when it was assigned the Thursday 10 PM slot for fall. But in the summer, the series was pushed to midseason after a series of setbacks, including the pregnancy of star Becki Newton, the decision by creator/executive producer Cindy Chupack to step down from day-to-day showrunner duties and the exit of the other original star, Jordana Spiro, because of her commitment to TBS’ My Boys. The order for the show was subsequently cut from 13 to 9. With The Paul Reiser Show recently launching for what became a two-week run and Love Bites getting slated, comedy Friends With Benefits now remains the only freshman NBC comedy that has not been scheduled yet. Meanwhile, Newton has a pilot in second position, CBS’ untitled Filgos comedy, which could be picked up to series before Love Bites premieres. And Love Bites co-star Greg Grunberg toplines A&E’s pilot Big Mike, but his deal for the NBC series was only for one season.

WHY UP AGAINST ROOKIE BLUE!!!!!!!
This is a bit confusing… Do we have a show or are they going to stick to the new pilots?
What a pile of crap!
There is no gentle way to put this…this is the worst pilot I have ever read.
That is so mean.
All of the Jeff Gaspin/ Zucker pilots that NBC still haven’t aired are being thrown into the trash can nights of Summer!!! Gotta Love it!!!
This show has been through hell and back. No need to punish it any further.
Have any of these people who seem so quick to rag on the show had the opportunity of actually seeing it? Or even just the pilot? I think you will be joyfully surprised to be proven wrong. And by the way, how is your Network Thursday Night at 10 show going? Perhaps, once it airs, if you like it (as I imagine you may), you may consider — heaven forbid — a retraction.
I thought this show was dead, to be honest. NBC is so stupid, so much for the new president improving things. And I know that he had no control for the 2010-11 season pilots or fall 2010 scheduling, but now he has full control over that network for programming. In the true style of NBC, they will probably not promote the series enough, air the first 6-7 episodes and put the remaining episodes online. Something NBC is known for doing, they did it with Persons Unknown and most recently The Cape.
Greenblatt has control of the schedule, but he has nothing to put on the air until he chooses which pilots go on the fall schedule, and even those, he had to pick from things that were developed by a regime he didn’t oversee. Give him time: anything is an improvement. I think he’ll do great things, though some of his executive choices worry me a little.
Beau, And are you talking about Jennifer Nicholson Salke or Tal Rabinowitz? Because some people on here dont like Salke while a lot of people seem to like Tal who developed The Big C at Showtime which is very funny.
I think this will be a hit.
Thats a bit harsh.. :/ why do think that way?
If ” LOVE BITES” was only gonna be a one season series…why should viewers even bother watching??..ill stick to other shows that atleast have a chance at returning!!..
Just because it’s only got 9 episodes doesn’t mean they wont be entertaining. Think of it as a comedic mini-series.
