UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. (April 29, 2011) -– NBC revealed that it will add more star-power to its new vocal competition series “The Voice” with singers Reba, Monica, Sia (Furler) and music producer Adam Blackstone joining the series as new advisers who will lend their experience and talents to musician coaches Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton for the next “Battles” competition phase.
“The Voice” next airs Tuesday, May 3 (9-11 p.m. ET) and then will be broadcast from 10-11 p.m. (ET) each Tuesday night on May 10, May 17 and May 24 following new episodes of “The Biggest Loser” (Tuesdays, 8-10 p.m. ET).
Aguilera will team up with singer/songwriter Sia, Levine with Maroon 5 Music Director Blackstone, Green with singer Monica and Shelton with veteran singer Reba — eventually cutting their teams in half by pitting two of their own artists against each other in a series of dueling duets.
Each of the musician coaches chose their advisers to help them at the next “Battles” stage that lasts across four episodes. Reba, Monica, Sia and Blackstone were picked because they are in the trusted inner circle of the respective musician coach that they are helping. They are being brought in by the musician coaches to bring out the best in each of their artists, help to select songs that suit specific vocal styles and provide advice for performance. These adviser rosters will expand when the competition moves on to the live performance stage.

I think its a wise move to not air it at 8 pm.
Why is that good? The voice should be a lead in to another show because it had such high ratings. They are doing the same thing that they did to harry’s law — wasting large audiences to bring audiences to other shows. It makes no sense given how nbc is doing as a network.
wish it was on for 2 hours..first show zipped right by. gotta say nbc did this right.
This is a good move by NBC (never though I’d say that). It won’t have to compete with NCIS or NCIS: LA, either.
@john I have to disgree, I think 10pm is too late. To be honest as much as I love TBL, they should prob keep it 8pm and an hour and trying extending the Voice to 2 hrs airing 9-11. The Voice should be NBC equivilant of Idol or DWTS, which are both family shows and as such, 10pm is too late IMHO.
Except that it went up at 10 pm vs. the 9 pm airing. So, yes it is smarter to run it at 10 pm.
That puts it in competition with the last two episodes of the CBS’ “The Good Wife”, which has been up and down all season, should be a good fight!
When did Reba McEntire start going by only her first name?
When you knew automatically who “Reba” was.
It probably is just me, but doesn’t this whole thing feel like half a show? Sure we get it, they can’t see ‘the voice’ until the judges decide they NEED to, then POW, big turn and reveal. Dramatic. Great.
But then what? The whole teams thing seems like they’re trying to figure it out still. I mean, once the big gimmick is played out, isn’t this just American Idol with coaches?
If you watch the Dutch show you will see the epic battle rounds!
NBC knows it sucks right?
The ratings say otherwise.
10pm? Really NBC?
Does it get bad later in the Series or why is NBC choosing to air it at 10?! Yes, i’ve read that the dutch original got abit chaotic once the live shows started but….after such a brilliant start they chose to air it at 10?
Why not air it at 9:30pm after ‘Loser’ thus cutting the weight loss series to 90mins and giving ‘The Voice’ a more prominent timeslot.
Am afraid that this is not a note of confidence from NBC.
It’s a smart move to air it at 10 pm because that is where it got the highest rating. They don’t want to air it opposite Glee/Idol .
huh? I’m confused.. too many judges, too many advisors, too confusing on how the contestants get voted out or compete or whatever.
I’m out.. well, til the finale week, then I’ll check in to see who lasted.. yeah, I admit it.. but not til then.
