Tyler Perry has set Rebecca Romijn for Good Deeds, the film that Perry will next direct for Lionsgate for 34th Street Films. Shooting starts April 25 in Atlanta. Romijn will play a former corporate executive who prefers motherhood. Perry plays the title character, Glen Deeds. The film also will star Thandie Newton, Phylicia Rashad, Gabrielle Union, Brian White, Eddie Cibrian, and Jamie Kennedy. Romijn is best known for playing the Mystique role in the X-Men movies. That doesn’t seem all that long ago, but the role is being played by The Hunger Games‘ Jennifer Lawrence in the prequel X-Men: First Class, which Fox releases in June. Romijn is repped by 3 Arts and UTA.
New ‘Man Of Steel’ Television Spot #6

this sounds awful! I can’t wait to not see this. The sexual chemistry between her and Perry will be non-existant!
Should be good. Rebecca is an underrated actress in my mind. Femme Fatale was awesome!
It was more than awesome, it was under watched. A shame it was under-appreciated. A shame because that was THE movie of her career (so far). It was so good and so sexy and she was perfectly cast. What more could one want from some one with her attributes. I would have thought it would have launched her into “A” status. Oh well, at least she is a working actress. How many actors can say that?
I love her. She is so fun!
Tyler Perry movie castings: take the money and run! (That’s what Tyler does.)
Wow! Unbelievable names for such a nothing script. I bet none of these people actually read it; they just signed on to get the exposure.
As much as I despise his work, I can’t knock Tyler Perry’s hustle.
I often wonder why people make negative comments….Like what did you all get out of that? Does putting someone down give you personal satisfaction of some sort???? All I can say is Tyler Perry did not get where he is from winning the lottery, being born into money, or get his riches from anything other than being creative, smart and hard work! You know how he must feel to have to read comments about himself and or his movies?! If you have no interest in his films, why didn’t you click on another topic rather than his?! Tyler Perry is a human just like all of us so lets treat others as how we would like to be treated ourselves! I think every mother has taught their children, if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all! Tyler, I’m sure your movie will be great! Can’t wait to see it! And take some comfort in knowing that these negative, obviously bored people have donated to your bank account when they saw your movie and if they didn’t see it, then they have no business making comments! And by the way, have you seen his girlfriend?!?! She is absolutly beautiful!! Bet your wife or girlfriends don’t look like that :p (sucks when people say crappy stuff huh) and just an FYI, I live in Atlanta and last winter 2010, our local news did a story on an elderly woman who had a fire, causing her to lose her home….leaving her no way to take care of her several grandchildren she was raising and can I tell you that Mr. Perry, the man that somebody posted he is a “take the money and run guy” built her a brand new home!!!!!! HELLO people?!?! Would you do that? Could you do that?! Not many of us can so please, have some respect for this man!!!! He did not have to do that, he did it out of the kindness of his heart!!! Let the man enjoy his success! Find somebody else to take your life aggressions out on!
CONGRATS TYLER FOR ALL YOUR SUCCESS!!!!
The reason people bash Tyler Perry is because his work is lacking talent, heart, or reason. We want good movies and he’s dedicated his existence to putting out as much crapola as possible.
And it’s REAL sad to see Ms Stamos reduced to having to schlep her way through a Tyler Perry crapfest. I knew her star had seriously fallen since X-Men 3 but jesus I didn’t know her career had hit the skids THIS bad!
Heather,
These people are obviously jealous and envious because in order for them to sell a script or get financing for a movie, they have to go in front of numerous Execs at numerous studios and kiss ass. These same people are the ones who all have degrees in film from USC and UCLA. Tyler Perry taught himself. Tyler Perry doesnt need to kiss anybodys ass to make his movies. He has greenlighting power. THAT is a power that only a handful in this town have!!! These people who post these negative comments would NEVER say this to Tyler’s face because its hard to look into the eyes of a man who is worth hundreds of millions of dollars and is self made and spit in his face.
I love Tyler Perry, mostly his plays…i like his movies but i live his plays a lot more. I will continue to support him in his business. Hell I might even move to ATL!! lolol
Fewer exclamation points will make your argument seem less shrill and desperate.
Thanks for the advice DB
Didn’t sound shrill and desperate to me. Seems he is a fan and is pumped and excited and was trying to make his points by way of emphases. Actually your comment seems disdaining and elitist…but then I am probably just projecting, know what I mean?
Why is it elitist to mention that less volume might enhance her argument? Whenever people shout paragraphs of their opinions, live or in print, it usually indicates their points are weak.
People make negative comments, because a lot of people think his work is downright awful. If an artist puts their work out there, they have to be prepared for the fact that people will have opinions about said artist’s work. And those opinions will be both good and bad.
If you like TP, then fine…more power to you. But don’t try to stop other people from offering THEIR OWN opinion about the man’s work.
Thank you.

People are so blind to the point where they fail to realize that he’s making an honest attempt to change up his work.
Tyler Perry knows what he is doing, so there is no point second-guessing him, the question is what are we going to do, Mr. Perry has Liongate to distribute his films, something other film makers can learn a thing or two about, we keep questioning his work, and he keeps delivering, he has a strong following, so either get on the bandwagon or wait on another Precious, Mr. Perry is doing his thing, and he puts alot of people to work, I commend him, shouldn’t we all?
tyler perry movie makes people think about life. his movies and shows makes me laugh when life turns sour. His work reminds me of little toddlers making a frown into a smile. the world needs to stop complaining and laugh a little bit more
Watch at Tyler Perry he is getting better and better he will soon have a classic and more than one. I do admire him looking at where he came from to now. Good work Tyler Perry your are getting better.
As “crappy” and “lacking in talent” as people deem his films to be, either he has found a legion of really dumb film executives, distributors and fans to support his films (with hundreds of millions of dollars by the way), or he has mastered mass hypnosis! I’ll take door number one! As a screenwriter, his stories have a basic premise, but I’ve also found that he’s getting progressively better as he makes more films. He’s not Martin Scorsese….just yet. We aren’t talking about an NYU film grad or an Oscar-winning screenwriter. He’s a man who came out of relative obscurity and developed a pretty good career for himself. Sure, he has a lot to learn and a long way to go before we consider him a master filmmaker, but I’d implore anyone with the means to make better films to have at it. That is all
Some of the earlier comments on here are really stupid. I just saw this movie recently. It was nothing like you insightful people though it would be like. It was a entertaining movie. Ms. Romijn was prominent in the movie, but no she did not have a relationship with Tyler Perry’s character. It was a very good movie, entertainment wise and technically, and I usually do not not like the movies he has done in the past, this one changed my mind. Like Hank, I agree that Tyler Perry, is evolving and getting better, sort of like Steve Martin and Robin Williams. Although I am not feeling that Kardasian woman being in his next movie, I will keep an open mind.
