Lily Collins, the daughter of singer Phil Collins whose breakout role came as the daughter of Sandra Bullock’s character in The Blind Side, has been tapped to play the coveted role of Snow White in Relativity Media’s modern retelling of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale, the company said tonight. She joins Armie Hammer as Prince Andrew Alcott and Julia Roberts as the evil queen in the Tarsem Singh-directed feature, which has begun preproduction ahead of a planned May shoot. The film already has a release date: June 29, 2012. That’s before a competing Snow White project — Universal’s Snow White and the Huntsman, which stars Kristen Stewart in the title role alongside Charlize Theron — which has a Dec. 21 bow slated.
Collins next appears in Sony’s Priest, opposite Paul Bettany, which bows May 13. She also stars in John Singleton’s Abduction opposite Taylor Lautner, slated to be released Sept. 23.

This is the one with Julia Roberts. It’s supposed to be some type of comedy love triangle between the prince(AH), the evil queen(JR), and Snow White(LC).
Are you kidding me? A type of comedy love triangle between Julia.R, Armie and Lily’s characters?! Uhm, I think I might be skipping this Snow White and checking the edgy one with Charlize Theron and Stewart instead.

Weak. Kristen might be better known and she might have a bigger fanbase, but Lily being less known actually works to her advantage, notice her casting’s getting better reception than Kristen’s. Still it’s too early to tell which one will be better, though I’m more curious about the one with Lily because of Tarsem. Then again I also love Charlize Theron. We’ll see…

That’s exactly what I meant. People are more approving of Lily because she is less known, that’s one advantage.. another advantage is that she’s Tarsem’s Snow White. But again, we’ll see as both productions develop and get to see the final product. Stop knocking so pointlessly.. it makes you look a bit foolish.

I’m liking this project. It feels much better than the Kristen Stewart one.
First of all, I disagree – the Kristen Stewart one sounds MUCH better, mainly because it’s a drama, not a dumb comedy with midgets like the Julia Roberts one.
The Snow White with Julia Roberts isn’t a comedy. How about reading the actual synopsis before slamming the movie?

What does this mean for The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones in which she was supposed to play the lead? Wasn’t that supposed to start shooting soon? It was rumored that Clint Culpepper said he wouldn’t go forward with it unless Alex Pettyfer signed for the male lead. That can’t possibly be true, right?

I wish Hollywood would get it right and have Lily Collins be the Snow White in the Universal project. This competiveness is so utterly counter productive. Universal has the better script/evil queen while Relativity has the better release date/snow white casting. If an audience member even decides to go see a movie about snow white (fat chance seeing how Red Riding turned out), they are going to hate the first one and never even sit through the second.

Hunh? Have Collins be the Universal Snow White? Why? So that one can bomb too?? I saw Blind Side and don’t even remember her. Stewart has generated almost a billion in revenue, and is a lightening bolt for publicity whether you agree with it or not, added to that, she’s got quite the indie cred, and received raves for her chops in The Runaways and Welcome to The Rileys. I mean really, what more does this kid have to do?? What straight up bonehead would swap out Stewart for an unknown actress who no one is currently interested in, and has had no buzz whatsoever. Oh, and news bulletin: if anyone can make this project fly, it would be Stewart who carries with her a significant fanbase and penchant for edgy dramatic material. If Seyfried couldn’t carry a fairy tale, why do you think Collins could? Stewart’s fame dwarfs (pardon the pun) Seyfried’s so she at least stands a very good chance of putting butts in seats, but the Julia Roberts one, with the casting of Collins, is pretty much DOA.

Why you’re equating Collins who is older and has been around longer but hasn’t made an impact, with Kristen Stewart who’s younger and has a massive fanbase, and whose wide releasing films have generated almost a BILLION dollars worldwide, is a mystery.

Your post is full of nothing but fail. Kristen Stewart’s last movie didn’t even make $5 Million at the box office. Three movies straight staring her bombed at the box office last year. She’s a box office dud. Twilight makes a billion because of hot guys and a best selling book not boring stuttering, hair pulling, open mouthed Stewart. Lily is only one year older than Stewart not 50 years old. Stewart is the one who has been around since age 10 but still has no box office power. Lily is just starting out her movie career. You Kristen Stewart fans are so full of delusions about her star power. Trash Lily all you want if it makes you feel important about being a Stewart fan.

Naturally, I have nothing against Kristen Stewart, she’s a pretty girl who’s been very lucky in her career so far. I just think it’s absolutely ridiculous to credit her for the billion+ dollars the Twilight films made.
Look at Stew’s box office. Twilight isn’t a success because of her. Her movies without vampires were all BIG flops. And she never got any big praise for her work. The only positive things were ‘Oh she can act.’ Is that called praise?
And take a look at the real world. Kristen made a lot of movies but didn’t become famous. But other actresses did a little and become as known as her after her doing Twilight.
You KStew fans need a reality check. Twilight is one thing, but Kristen alone is not a box office draw and that is a proven fact. Her being a tabloid constant doesn’t equate to box office success and if it wasn’t for “Robsten” her name wouldn’t show up as often. I am in no way discrediting her, she deserves a chance as anyone else, but Lily is in no way as beneath her as you want to believe. Lily hasn’t been around longer nor is she much older, she has just started her career with one film released (The Blind Side) two coming up soon (Priest and Abduction) plus her two biggest attachments yet (Mortal Instruments and now Snow White). Not bad at all, right? Also, I don’t know if you are either forgetting or ignoring what Julia Roberts attachment to the film means. Now SHE is a real heavyweight weather people like it or not.

Lily Collins has the name, connections, and virginal looks to play a “Snow White”.
Unfortunately, her big break will share the screen with Julia Roberts as the “Evil Queen”.
Julia’s egocentric, narcissistic, revengeful, pandering, bullying, personality will no doubt corrupt the creative process on set, making “Snow White” all about the “Evil Queen”.
Every scene that Lily shares with Julia, Julia will bigfoot her. Julia will demand the best dialog & shots, close ups, lighting, trailer, catering, P.A’s, and of course, salary.
Before release, Julia will hog all the TV promo interviews, hawking HER new movie, “Snow White”.
After Julia makes the rounds, poor Lily will get the leftovers with old fart pervs like Leno and Craig leering over her. Their first question to Lily will be: “So, tell us, what was it like working with Julia Roberts? Must have been amazing!”
And Lily will answer as she’s been primed by her agent: “OMG! I couldn’t believe it! Me acting with Julia Roberts! She’s my hero, I so look up to her. I am so blessed to work with Julia!”
Then, after release, we can chalk up another bomb on Julia’s resume.
And Lily will learn the hardest lesson in Hollywood for young actresses: With few exceptions, aging star actresses ARE real life Evil Queens!
She’ll be so much better than Kristen Stewart.
How do you figure? Stewart has won rave reviews for her acting chops, Collins not so much. So what do you base ‘so much better,’ on? I saw Blind Side twice, and was still surprised to learn she was in it. That doesn’t exactly scream charisma. Yet here you are in another actress’s thread, with Kristen Stewart on the brain, talking her up (or down). I’d say even YOU are more interested Kristen Stewart, ya hater. LOL

It was on Duke where Phil Collins’ presence became more apparent. I think Invisible Touch was the group’s undisputed masterpiece. It’s an epic meditation on intangibility. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding three albums. Christy, take off your robe. Listen to the brilliant ensemble playing of Banks, Collins and Rutherford. You can practically hear every nuance of every instrument. Sabrina, remove your dress. In terms of lyrical craftsmanship, the sheer songwriting, this album hits a new peak of professionalism. Sabrina, why don’t you, uh, dance a little. Take the lyrics to Land of Confusion. In this song, Phil Collins addresses the problems of abusive political authority. In Too Deep is the most moving pop song of the 1980s, about monogamy and commitment. The song is extremely uplifting. Their lyrics are as positive and affirmative as anything I’ve heard in rock. Christy, get down on your knees so Sabrina can see your *******. Phil Collins’ solo career seems to be more commercial and therefore more satisfying, in a narrower way. Especially songs like In the Air Tonight and Against All Odds. Sabrina, don’t just stare at it, eat it. But I also think Phil Collins works best within the confines of the group, than as a solo artist, and I stress the word artist. This is Sussudio, a great, great song, a personal favorite.
