Summit Entertainment’s Man on a Ledge, which stars Sam Worthington and Elizabeth Banks and is directed by Asger Leth, has been slated for wide release Jan. 13, 2012. Worthington plays an ex-cop and wanted fugitive who threatens to jump off a New York high-rise, and Banks is the hostage negotiator who tries to talk him down.
Warner Bros has shifted its 3D sequel Final Destination 5 to Aug. 12, 2011, up from its original Aug. 26 date.

Probably better for FD5 to be two weeks earlier to take more advantage of the summer vacation audience. While TFD did good in the same weekend this one was originally to be released, it’s the last weekend before school begins and it’s very competitive. I’m wondering where the trailer is for it though, it’s just four months until it hits theaters.
As for Man on a Ledge, this is the first I am hearing of it. The plot sounds a bit dull though, I may have to check it out just because I enjoy Elizabeth Banks very much.
The trailer will come out with Priest in two weeks. (That’s what they’ve said)
Wow! I’m sorry to hear this, as I was looking forward to seeing Man On A Ledge. But Summit must have no confidence whatsoever in this film if they are dumping it in the post-holiday/award season black hole of January. Nobody pays attention to anything new during January. The media will be consumed with award season coverage, and the public will be trying to catch up on all the heavy-weight fare that got dumped on them over the holidays.
Too bad. I thought this sounded like a tidy little thriller with a good solid cast.
