Another great late-night moment courtesy of NBC’s Jimmy Fallon. A few days ago, Fallon and “best friend for six months” Stephen Colbert pledged that Colbert would sing the much-savaged YouTube sensation Friday on Fallon’s late-night show if the duo’s charity project raised $26,000 by this Friday. Despite skepticism that this could be an April Fool’s joke, Colbert, joined by The Roots, Fallon, Taylor Hicks and the Knicks City Dancers, delivered a rousing performance last night. Watch it below:

Music is all about the arrangements.
Well done.
hmm colbert was underwhelming but fallon and taylor hicks brought the house down
How sad. You obviously know nothing about real singing talent. Colbert actually has a very good singing voice and shows some vocal training. The song went downhill after the rap portion with Fallon, Hicks and the bad ‘dancers’.
it’s a comedy show, dummy.
This was awesome, made the song so much more catchy. And Taylor Hicks showing up? So random, but hilarious.
Colbert initiated all of this – including divining the phrase ‘best friend for 6 mos’ – so it’s a shame to see Jimmy unduly getting more credit…
Shame!
It should be called Jimmy Fallon and the Nostalgia Show. And he should keep doing exactly what he’s doing. He’s more entertaining than Leno any day.
Fallon has a very entertaining show. People knock him, but I wonder if they’ve given the show a chance? It is light years better than it was when it first started.
What you said is really true. It happened fast.
Great but why was the Nice n Easy shampoo commercial SO DAMN LOUD with no way to lower the volume? I hate when they do that it’s infuriating.
No offense but you can lower the volume on your computer right?
Hahahahahahaha

Google it.
I want to marry both Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Colbert because of this. Turning a pretty ho hum annoying song into awesome.
Yeah. That is a bad song.
at least a charity got something out of it.
This was bad. No wonder I stopped watching Fallon.
Damn, troll, crawl back into your mom’s basement.
I thought it was great. I watch Colbert religiously, and will watch more of Fallon after seeing him interact with The Colbert Report over the past few months.
you have no soul
Go back to fixing your cars Leno!
I said I can’t hear you I have shampoo in my ears
Really well produced piece, builds and builds and builds, it’s like an expertly choreographed action scene, almost.
I admit I’m one of those who finds it painful and embarrassing to watch Fallon’s show, and I’m mystified when I see the occasional bits in clips wherein he seems to have actually pulled off something funny – or at least energizing.
Fallon behind that desk – whether he’s bringing up the card to introduce a guest, or reading the cards for the next bit, always looks to me like the guy in a sitcom who BEGGED to fill in for the missing host, and who is then nervous and uncomfortable once the red light goes on. If a high school presented a version of Conan’s show, or Letterman’s, but at 8:30am and starring the kid who played the lead in BOTH plays that year, I think it would look and sound exactly like Fallon does behind the desk MOST of the time. And then he does something that’s actually funny and completely screws up my preconceived notions.
It had potential until the incredibly unfunny Fallon joined in. Then I lost interest. Fallon could never dream of being as witty or interesting as Colbert. More like, a potentially great late night moment delivered by Colbert, but then brought down a notch.
Is that George Clonney? So many chessy songs in the world.
Safe to say that Rebecce Black is “winning”
10 trillion times better than Kimmel. Unreal that puke still has a show.
weak as hell…just pathetically try-hard and unfunny
Ah, a joyless, bitter crank on the Internet. Who would have expected it?
Hey, leave me out of this.
funny
lol u mad
Those who can, create comedy television. Those who can’t, stay home in their boxer shorts and complain about it.
Then why aren’t Colbert and Fallon at home with their Hanes on?
I love this video, but I despise your comment. Why? Because it’s that age-old moronic argument: “Make something better if you don’t like it.” It’s amazing there are still idiotic mouth-breathers still using this nonsensical rationale. In essence, you’re claiming that anyone who doesn’t like something must create something better, or remain completely silent. By your logic, if I dislike food at a restaurant, my opinion means nothing until I walk into the kitchen and make something better– even though I’m not a professional chef. News flash: It’s acceptable that some fans watch this clip and disagree with you: Maybe they think Fallon and Colbert *cannot* create comedy television, and their opinion is 100% valid. Oh, and for the record: YOU aren’t creating comedy television, either–so I guess you fall into the latter group, right? According to you, there are only 2 groups on the planet, so it’s one or the other.
LOL.. A little bit of an overreaction, but Dave’s right. Comments like that are just stupid. That said, I thought the clip was hilarious, too. lol
What a ridiculous comment. If you don’t “create comedy television,” you should never talk. Nice reasoning.
Back on topic: Good clip
For a song that makes my ears bleed I hate it so much, that was awesome fun!
That was cool.
These two need to co-host next year’s Oscars
What’s the barcode for?
i cant believe i wasted 5 minutes of my computer class to watch this. BTW this sucks. Just throwin that out there
Steven Colbert was an excellent “hook” to open this video. The whole bit was a real grabber. I saved it and play it on Fridays.
