Amid chants in the Chicago Theatre of “Detroit sucks,” the second night of Charlie Sheen’s concert tour Sunday went way better than Saturday in the Motor City — and by better we mean he actually made it through the entire show without being booed off the stage. According to the Chicago Tribune, the former Two And A Half Men star was much more mellow than on Night 1 of the Charlie Sheen Live: My Violent Torpedo Of Truth tour, answering an interviewer’s questions and interacting with the crowd. He also talked about returning to his hit show. From the Tribune:
Sheen said he would return to “Two and a Half Men,” the hit CBS sitcom that fired him after he viciously criticized creator Chuck Lorre. “If they say ‘Here’s your job back,’ I’ll go back to work,” he said. “I think it’s a great (f***ing) show,” he said, but his bosses, not so great: “They didn’t give a (f***ing) that I was hammered for eight years … money, ratings, money, ratings.”
Sheen’s LiveNation-sponsored tour continues Tuesday in Cleveland and Wednesday in Columbus before hitting New York’s Radio City Music Hall on Friday.

So now he’s complaining that they (the producers) didn’t stop him from using drugs? Wasn’t he complaining previously that they didn’t mind their own business?
I think he’s using the Lohan defense: it’s everyone else’s fault that he turned out this way. Next, he’ll drop his last name and ask to be referred to solely as “The Other Lindsay.”
I’m pretty sure he was refering to the fact that he was on drugs for the past 8 seasons and the producers didn’t care because the show was tops in the ratings and making big money. However, as soon as he criticized the Producer of the show, CBS and Warner Bros. suddenly got “concerned” for his welfare and decided he could no longer take the stress of being on the show.
He wasn’t blaming CBS or Warner Bros. for his substance abuse, he was blaming them for being lying about their “concern” for him when really all they were doing was pandering to their producer, Chuck Lorre, and kissing his ass because he has a bunch of other hit shows on the network and they want to keep him happy.
Personally, I think he’s an idiot. He found out on his first night in Chicago what they didn’t want from him and just changed tactics. The majority don’t like what he’s doing but he’s not listening to them. If he knows what the public wants he’ll change back to the man he use to be. Will he listen? He seems to be.
They need to bring him back to the show. The ratings will be higher then ever and isnt that what TV is all about??? They are going to lose so much money with that show being on the air. CBS was Charging about $200,000.00 for each 30 second commercial that is crazy money for each season alone they were making $160 million and not to mention with other products they show on the hit show two and a half men a total loss of $250 million in revenue between Warner Brothers and CBS! Why cant these people come to an understanding?
America’s favorite hot mess
can’t wait until nerds get done with that catchphrase
It’s just good to see that he had absolute cotempt for just one ciity on his tour. And then to turn around and blame Detroit for having a bad show? This is how I’ll sum up his concert in Detroit:
In the middle of the show, he ran a clip from a movie starring Johnny Depp and Clint Howard going to get a roll of film from a developer. Now, unfortunately, we didn’t get to see how this resolved itself because it was booed off the stage in a few minutes. But about the midway point in sitting through a fan-made video montage, I really wished that we instead would have followed the saga of the two men getting film developed.
Charlie if you want to come back to work here’s what you have to do. Stop this stupid tour and refund everyone’s money, drop your lawsuit against Chaim Levine, go to real rehab for three months and you’ll be back where you belong on CBS in our number one comedy. America loves a good comeback story more than anything.
TWO AND A HALF MEN will be back with Sheen. Guarantee it. Making more money and with higher ratings then ever before.
Too much money at stake for Sheen not to be back on Men. Too much of a risk to try and do it without him. Too much money to be made to not kiss and make up.
Of course he’d go back. He needs money for the drugs and hookers from somewhere.
Just another badly behaved rich a$$ hole. No sympathy here!! Ever!
So, Sheen opens with an “experiment” in Detroit and bombs. Then he goes on to Chicago and dumps on Detroit, while giving Chicago a much more organized performance. Does anyone else smell something fishy here? Did the people in Detroit get set up so that Sheen could win sympathy? I think he owes the people in Detroit an apology, not a smear.
Those are the words of loser who finally get the fact that his big mouth cost him everything. And he basically cries to his bosses to take him back. And that will never happen. Simply because if they will take him back then it will be just a matter of time (weeks) before he will get high and stop showing up for work.
It’s not like he went to rehab, stayed there for few months, got his stuff together and returned as a new responsible man. That is the same drug addict crazy narcissist he was yeaterday. Only this time he finally understood that he lost everything.
And isn’t this amazing how every single alcoholic and drug addict always blames everyone but himself for his addiction.
I love how many idiots on here manage to miss the point. Obviously Charlie wasn’t chanting “Detroit sucks”, the audience were, so he wasn’t trying to blame anyone. And saying that he’s blaming his employers for his lifestyle suggests that he thinks there’s something wrong with it, which the last few weeks have clearly shown he doesn’t. He’s unrepentant and I love it. Please try reading articles before making asinine comments below them.
Why don’t you read a few of the articles posted online about the Chicago show and see the expletive laden comments Charlie himself made about Detroit before calling people idiots.
So Charlie’s charging people for watching movie clips, huh? Sounds like copyright infringement to me. I’d have my studio lawyer slapping a cease-and-desist order so fast, your head would spin. Then I’d sue Sheen for illegal use of copyrighted property, and recoup every penny he bilked those lunatics out of.
You must ask yourself, what kind of demented person would fork over $50-$80 to go listen to the mindless ramblings of a drug addict? Is this what America has come to? The next generation is nothing more than drooling nincompoops.
Actually, it sounds as if the use of film clips falls under the fair use doctrine of copyright law. If he discussed the clips, it is “educational” and thus “fair use.”
I did not see the show. Just commenting on what you posted.
IANAL, but copyright law is rarely as cut and dried as one might wish.
Sheen’s use of clips are unlikely to be fair use by an “educational” definition, since they’re clearly being shown in a commercial, entertainment setting. They could–possibly–be exempted with the claim he used them as the basis for critical commentary, but it would depend on how much he used and whether a court bought his lawyer’s argument that he was providing “critical commentary.” Undoubtedly, the other side would argue that he was merely “introducing” the clips and on and on it would go…could be a fascinating discussion in a law school classroom.
Lost his job, lost his kids, lost the respect of most of his fans, and lost 99% of his career. If that’s “winning”, I’ll pass.
Why anyone is paying attention to him at this point is beyond me.
The only show I want to see him in is the days of deposition he will be subjected too once the CBS and Warner lawyers get him to testify to numerous criminal activities involving the didtribution of drugs.
“Lost his job, lost his kids, lost the respect of most of his fans, and lost 99% of his career. If that’s “winning”, I’ll pass.”-Woof Woof
Unfortunately, blaming others has become a way of life for Charlie Sheen. Make no mistake, he wants back in his old gig, but he’s staying in victim mode to avoid taking responsibility for his own behavior. These “concert” appearances are actually a series of childish tantrums. It may have worked when he was a toddler, but it’s hopeless when practiced by an adult.
The grudges he holds with Chuck Lorre and his former bosses at CBS simply give him a feeling of power as he continues to descend into a world of fantasy. Unfortunately for Charlie, CBS won’t suffer much by the demise of “Two and a Half Men.” However, he has succeeded in severely harming the careers of his fellow actors, show personnel and his own career.
The most troubling aspect of this whole odyssey is that even in a rough economy, there are so many people who are willing to pay to listen to his gibberish. Perhaps watching someone self-destruct makes them feel better about themselves.
Somewhere Casey Affleck and Joaquin Phoenix are saying, “Shit, why didn’t WE think of this?”
Joaquin already did. Remember he became a “recording artist?”
Worst documentary, ever!
I still think the plug is going to get pulled, sooner rather than later.
In fact, Chicago might end up being the last stop.
a poor excuse for the male species. Only imbeciles would cater to/follow this piece of trash. How many of our beloved military personnel died today so he can drip his loathe under the guise of freedom/free speech? God help the USA!
Get out of here.
why can’t we all just get along?
I’d like to see any one of you smug Sheenhaters open a show with little/no rehearsal and zero previews. It will take Charlie a few shows to get his stage legs and then he’ll rock. Detroit has lost 25% of its population, most of what’s left are the old people and dregs who can’t get out. Charlie will turn this puppy around real quick. He will win again. You watch and see.
Charlie Sheen is a WINNER and the rest of us miserable, worthless plebeians are LOSERS. Deal with it.
you are blind if you dont see that the man is truly”WINNING” i dont care if hes blasted all the time as long as hes entertaining me. and before you judge him and what he says get the whole damn quote not just excerpt from some fool who says hey lets print this. get awake people the media been doin it for years thats why im glad charlie spoke out himself.
Nice job, Charlie.
With a turnaround that quick, Bono should hire you to direct the Spider-Man musical.
