EXCLUSIVE: Emmy-winning Glee star Jane Lynch is set for The Three Stooges, the 20th Century Fox comedy directed by Peter and Bobby Farrelly. Lynch will play Mother Superior, who runs the orphanage where the trio grows up, despite her best efforts to get them adopted. She will star with Chris Diamantopoulos, who’s signing on to play Moe, Will Sasso, who’s playing Curly, and Sean Hayes, who signed on recently to play Larry Fine. Production begins in May.

It’s a match made in heaven.
This project may be a train wreck. It may be great. But I think it will definitely be interesting. The casting just keeps getting wonderfully bizarre……
Wait.
So The Three Stooges aren’t Jewish?
The whole subtext of the original Stooges was three physically smaller, defiantly unlovely Jewish guys blowing up snobbish Protestant institutions.
Actually, Jane would have had the perfect sadistic chops to play Moe.
The biggest outrage of the century. A Three Stooges movie.
WHY!!!!
BOYCOTT
The Stooges are indeed Jewish. Two of them, at least.
And Moe and Curly were brothers in real life; their real names were Moses and Jerome Horwitz. Their brother Shemp (Samuel) was a Stooge before and after Curly joined the trio.
Should have been a biopic, not a movie with three “new” stooges mimicking the old. Just another case in point that there are very few original ideas coming out of Hollyweird anymore.
Nice to see Will Sasso getting a chance to shine, he has always been so talented and never had the right venue since Mad TV.
Does this mean that we will finally get to see Lindsay Lohan play Barbarella?
