Christopher Lloyd has been tapped for the last lead role in NBC’s untitled Dan Goor comedy. The multicamera centers on Dr. Adam Foote (Andrew J. West), who leaves a broken relationship and a job as hospital administrator in Boston to come home to Maryland and join the family practice, which includes his doting mom, Dr. Barbara Foote (Jean Smart), his father, Dr. George Foote (Jere Burns), and his grandfather, Dr. Robert Foote (Lloyd). Also cast in the pilot in guest starring/recurring roles are Octavia Spencer, Courtney Henggeler, Eddie Pepitone and Fahim Anwar, who is repped by Principato-Young. Gersh-repped Lloyd recently appeared on Fox’s Fringe.
Burt Reynolds is set to co-star opposite LeAnne Rimes in the CMT movie Reel Love, one of the first two films to come out of the newly created CMT Original Movies division, which will produce TV movies with a focus on romantic comedies and music-based films. Reel Love stars Rimes as Holly, a successful big-city girl who returns to her small-town roots after a family emergency. She then embarks on a soulful, comedic journey to reconnect with family and friends and find meaningful romance along the way. Reynold will play Holly’s father, a grizzled ex-Army, ex-cop, ex-trucker. The movie is set to begin production in late April in Ontario and will premiere in September. Reynolds, repped by KLWG and APA, will next be seen in Not Another Not Another Movie.

New ‘Man Of Steel’ Television Spot #6

Two questions about the LeAnne Rimes casting: 1). Her enormous talent as a singer is not in question, but can she act at all? 2). Isn’t she a bit on the nose at the moment? She’s a country star. One of the problems with having a conservative-Christian fanbase is that they’re nowhere near as forgiving of personal decisions like getting romantically involved with a married man as liberals are. Am I the only one who can see a lot of damaging comments about ‘Hollyweird’ and “oh what a skank”, godless antics etc. getting in the way? I’ve got no interest in her personal life myself, but a lot of people seem to watch movies/listen to music based on the artists politics and lifestyles nowadays.
Chris Lloyd? Burt Reynolds?
Still getting paid gigs?
Something spooky is going on.
Just in the last week, Deadline Hollywoood has featured so many old, mostly forgotten, should-be-retired actors-like Alan Alda, Don Johnson, and a bunch of nameless 50+ women, plus Betty White!-in NEW TV pilots & movies, that I have to ask:
Is this Hollywood’s real life version of “Zombies”?
What the hell is going on in TV land?
Lloyd, Alda, Reynolds, Johnson, and 50+ old actresses?
This is the talent pool NBC & other nets are tapping?
Old actors 50+ make me feel OLD!
What demo is a Chris Lloyd or Alan Alda going to attract?
What products are their shows going to sell-Depends, life/medical insurance, The Clapper, ambulance chasing/social security lawyers, retirement villages, medicare rip-offs, vitamins?
I gotta watch me some Disney channel right now to get out of this old funk!
It’s about time that they have old actors again. You know like they did back in the 1970s and 80s.
You mean actors that actually know their craft, instead of 20 year old Disney robots? Give me Jean Smart and Christopher Lloyd anyday over Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens! And I’m nowhere near 50.
Great….more Canadian, runaway production crap.
madhuri
Charlie Sheen will be back at Two And A Half Men, but the show has jumped the shark. Charlie is very good, but he’s an actor in a good situation (on the show) even if he comes back, there is a lot of ill will, even though Chuck Lorre instigated it ,
Chuck (and I dont know him), has a hit show, but that’s not enough he has those dumb vanity cards that nobody can read, and he bit the hand that feeds him by saying on one of those cards
“If Charlie outlives me I will really be pissed” That was his self-importance (EGO) getting the better of him, why rock the boat; well he did, and the boat capsized………
After tonight’s disaster in Detroit, hey I love that title, you can use it
DISASTER IN DETROIT, STARRING CHARLIE SHEEN brought to you by, Jack Daniels, Coke, and Hustler magazine
