UPDATE: Charlie Sheen’s lawyer Marty Singer has fired back at Warner Bros’ lawyers for claiming that his client has lied about discussions for him to return to Two and a Half Men. “There have been discussions as late as Tuesday, and all parties have been involved — Warner Bros, CBS, (Men executive producer) Chuck Lorre and Charlie Sheen,” Singer told TMZ.
PREVIOUS: Following recent statements by Charlie Sheen that he has been “in discussions” to return to Two and a Half Men, the hit CBS sitcom he was fired from last month, one of the two layers representing Men producer Warner Bros TV has fired off a letter to Sheen’s litigation attorney Marty Singer. The letter, obtained by TMZ, calls Sheen’s statements “false.” “As you know,” John Spiegel wrote, “there have been no discussions, there are no discussions and there will be no discussions, regarding his returning to or having any involvement with the series.” Ouch!

Good. Stick with your guns Warner. Now, CBS?
Charlie Sheen, delusions of grandeur! No way!!!!
Good.
seriously, time to move on from this nonsense
Without the millions made by imitating a cardboard standee on television, Charlie would be down on San Julian street with a shopping cart, waiting for a meal at the mission. He is nothing special. The spectacle is now boring and repetitive.
Dude, crack a window in your trailer and let some knowledge in. Sure, Sheen is a douche, but don’t make light of what the man did for a living. Try going in front of 3 cameras and a full house every day and nailing every take on one, like he did. Like him or not, the man is a natural, effortless star.
Sorry to let some sunshine into your little trailer and dispel the nauseating hero worship, but coddled, pampered and limo-delivered celebrities should not be celebrated for “nailing every take” a.k.a for merely showing up. Imitating a life-sized piece of cardboard does not take much effort, so I agree with the effortless part.
I agree with jk. How hard is it to read from a script? It’s not like he’s a dramatic actor.
that is just BS. he made a lot of great dramatic roles. try Platoon, Wall Street etc.
Charlie maybe crazy and delusional but he is a good actor.
Have the same filmo as Charlie Sheen and we will talk.
By the way comedic timing is maybe one of the most hard skill to achieve as an actor..so again you don’t know what you are talking about.
Every day? Sitcoms are filmed once a week. The rest of the week is for table reads and rehearsals. How about YOU crack open YOUR window, sweet cheeks? LMAO! God I hate it when industry wannabes post their drivel on this site, making it abundantly clear every time they do that they know NOTHING about the business.
Dear Basil, or should I say kettle. You forgot rewrites, which the actors then have to perform. So, yeah it’s an every day thing for them. Just because you know someone who knows someone who did craft service on a sit-com once clearly doesn’t make you an egg spurt. Starring in the number 1 half hour for as long as he has is no accident. He may not be you’re cup of tea personally but the guys got chops…for decades the guys got chops. You, you got nuttin’.
So what rehearsal, table reads is work dumbass.
And yeah one episode is one week of work.
That would be four cameras, and they only have audience one evening. The only “audience” actors like this usually have is the crew and extras. Not exactly something to shake in your boots about.
On the other hand, this show was not exactly Shakespeare, either. Dick jokes, sexual double-entendres and *wink-wink, nudge-nudge* sophomoric bile. I don’t know how the public could stomach it for so long.
Mr. Right, you’re spot on. Like Charlie or not it’s no easy task to deliver week after week the way he’s done. The guy is a masheen when it comes to delivering sit-com dreck. JK and Jake are clueless in this regard. Charlie may have gone bonkers but WB and CBS will never be able to save this show without him, period. If it were me, I’d make Upchuck Lorre grovel for the Sheenius’ return but there’s no inflated ego like the show runner ego so that will never happen.
Dude if you don’t like the show don’t watch it, the show is based off of Charlie Sheens life and he does an awesome job with the role. Everyone is always talking shit about how Charlie Sheen does this or does that, when really who is to say how much someone is to drink, about the drugs everyone is doing drugs now and the only reason you know about his drug use is because he tells you, so at least he admits his mistakes and tries to fix them. I don’t think anyone has the right to talk shit about him, you have no idea what that man has been through, so why don’t you keep your smart ass comments to your fuckin selves. Thank you and have a wonderful day.
If Charlie Sheen went back to MEN, the first new episode would be the highest rated episode in the show’s history.
Agreed. And the second episode would drop off dramatically, beginning the decline that would lead to the show’s cancellation, possibly as early as mid-season.
I think Charlie Sheen and the WB brass need to hate fuck each just to get it over and done with once and for all.
Moonves is really coming off as a scumbag who has no regard for the health of sheen and the safety of the two and a half men staffers. Has he read WB’s legal brief? Man’s a time bomb. And bombs cause collateral damage.
Reminds me of the scum that enabled Belushi and Farley into the grave.
If moonves has a soul,, he’ll feel empty when sheen dies on his watch
Dude, what in the world are you talking about?
Are you really throwing a pity party for Charlie Sheen? The dude is a good comedic actor and needs professional help, but he is an adult and has to face the consequences of his decisions like the rest of us.
I don’t know where you work but in most companies if an employee mouthes off to his/her boss and repeatedly violates drug policies, they are axed. The only shame is that it has taken this long.
For the best… maybe now they can restore the show’s balance.
Alan was supposed to be the straight man, the sympathetic character annoyed by wacky roomate Charlie’s exploits. But somewhere along the line it got switched around and the show became painful to watch because of it.
The role change became so forced that it was ridiculous… trying to make Alan the wacky one with his cheapness and that awful ventriloquist dummy (please burn that thing now), and trying to make Charlie the sympathetic character with those horrible engaged/break-up/make-up/break-up again storylines.
Okay, GS is spot on about the show’s balance.
Nevertheless I’m tired of TV rewarding bad behavior. Stick to your guns WB.
I hope that they finally cancel this series. I am bored of it. Charlie Sheen had such a promising career and I am so disappointed to see the direction that his life and career has gone. He has done some great movies in his time such as Wall Street (1987), The Three Musketeers (1993), The Arrival (1996), Shadow Conspiracy (1997), Postmortem (1998), etc. I always wanted him to just do mainstream movies, particularly serious films and dramas, try to reach his full potential as an actor, join the A-list and try to win an Oscar. But now I have just given up on him. He hasn’t surpassed his father, Martin Sheen who still gets better roles and does bigger movies and he has become the laughing stock of Hollywood.
The guy is totally unemployable. And pathetic as well. Every word out of is mouth is a God damned lie. Hopefully people will stop listening to his gibberish and let him disappear into nothingness where his ilk belong.
Moonves, soul or no soul, and CBS are not going to walk away from the billion dollar juggernaught of Two and a Half Men. What would Sumner say? Magic 8 Ball says: Charlie back on CBS by September for highest rated season premiere of 2011.
This is a grown man who ‘CHOSE” to drink and do drugs in excess. He took a dump on every good thing in his life – job, people, wives, ex-wives, kids, friends, etc.. – and now he is going around the country putting all his psychosis on stage for all to see. Most pathetic excuse for a human being i have seen in a long time. He should smack himself around, wake up and get into rehab for a very long time and for the love of g-d SHUT UP!!! Spoiled rotten moron. He killed everybody’s money and he will never work in TV again.
Sorry, Charlie!
Hey, wait a minute, just the other day he said…Oh, okay, nevermind.
Losing.
Nobody’s fault but his own, “JonCryin”.
Two and a Half Men is NOT and will NEVER BE without Charlie Sheen…this show will fail without him…I am happy that the real ratings of Mike and Molly are now showing up! Withou Two and Half Men’s lead-in that shows sucks! Obviously Mooves and Lorre were in cahoots ..and again people this is all about money..nothing else…
doesn’t warners have a better way to release things than through TMZ?
Bravo for Warner Bros. TV.
I am no fan of Hollywood. But I am so damn sick of like a previous poster who sought to blame others for Charlie Sheen’s obnoxious behavior—or invoke John Belushi and Chris Farley as examples of Hollywood’s exploitation. If Charlie truly believed he was being mistreated by the producers and he is as talented as some of you numb-nuts claim, then he should have quit the show after his contract expired and pursued another career path. Everything he has done was his choice alone he is not a victim.
For the record, John Belushi and Chris Farley unfortunately died before their prime because they chose to play with illicit drugs—nobody forced them to do it. They were free-thinking individuals at the height of artistic and financial success and chose a path of self destruction. John Belushi’s cause of death was a speedball; the combined injection of cocaine and heroin. Farley died of cocaine intoxication and a morphine overdose. I don’t recall hearing that there were any studio executives force feeding them these narcotics. They gambled with their own lives and paid the price. ’nuff said
I think this will be a good life lesson for Charlie. There are some bridges you can’t rebuild. Yes, it’s too bad for the injured parties who may lose their jobs if they pull the plug on Men, but at some point you have to draw a line in the sand. Let Charlie keep doing his road show. Schmuck.
Well… Bucky… (re bridges) hmm… maybe yes and maybe no… if a ‘star’ is a real moneymaker for the studio and/or the network (like Charlie)… maybe they might just swallow hard and say say “What the Hell” as long as s/he shows up on time, knows his or her lines, and hits his or her marks.
Case in point: Hollywood gave Roland Polansky an Oscar.
I know many will disagree with me on this, but I do not think that Charlie Sheen is a good straight comic actor. Watching “Two and a Half Men,” I always felt that something was off. Then I realized that Charlie is a great deadpan, satiric actor. He was great in the “Hot Shots” movies and “Spin City.” Whereas “Hot Shots” was a straight parody, “Spin City” was more of a satire. Charlie works great when he is being serious, and the rest of the world is goofy around him. He can bounce off of comedic situations and goofy characters beautifully. He is also a fine dramatic actor when given the right material. But I never enjoyed his work on “Two and a Half Men.” I know I am in the minority here, but just my opinion.
Technically, representatives (and Charlie) calling studio and network executives and asking (i.e., begging) them to reconsider would be considered having discussions, even when the response to these requests were an emphatic “NO!”
They need to recast his role quickly. Or bring other character. So that Sheen would lost any hope and would stop crying for his job back. No one in his normal mind would hire him back. Because they would look like greedy idiots who would take any disrespect and humiliation for the money. And they would be heavy criticized.
And it was such a good lesson to all those divas out there who think that they are irreplaceable.
And it still amazes me how he thinks that he will just whistle: “Yo guys. We played a little bit. But now I forgive you and I’m ready to come back to work”…. Never mind that they lost millions of money because of him. Like it was some kids joke. Those celebrities really are like adult children with kids brain and behavior.
Oh look! Charlie Sheen can’t tell the difference between the voices in his head and reality! Must be a day ending at 11:59:59pm.
Seriously, Who’s to judge anybody? So, he has an illness or a disease and needs help, not criticism. Thats not how a person can conquer their problems. I’m pretty sure, more than half of you that are holding on to the negativity towards him, I would probably quess that you all are hooked on “doctor” prescribed medicine. So, why is it okay for you? You all would be the same way or worse if you had to deal with all the crap he has to deal with from every direction in his life. You think he just woke up one morning and said, “I think I’ll become an alcoholic and a drug addict today” Get off him and get over it! You’re no better than the next person.
