Jessica has a past with Patrick. Saw this coming a mile away.
I’ve known Cary since he worked at Triad. He called me the first day, to pitch his vo clients for a live action pilot I was casting. He was patient, kind and funny as I struggled to imagine how his name client’s voices sounded (never cast vo before). It was love at first phone call. He is one of the most supportive, kind, honest, smart and talented agents around. In fact, when Triad merged with WM, he ended up negotiating my casting deals. I knew he would display all those qualities and more in repping me. He will do well with whatever he decides to do with his life, but at least now he has time to smell the roses.
Hey Oops,I don’t know what “you saw coming”, past or no past, that Jessica may have with Patrick. Cary was a star at that company admired, respected and incredibly successful with all the celebrity clients. Believe it or not, sometimes people like that, actually walk away on their leaving an extremely successful position, to see what else life has to offer. Good luck Cary, whatever you do, you’ll do it well!!
I have known Cary for 29 years both personally and professionally. I have to say that it saddens me to read the crap that people feel compelled to write and the ridiculous speculation that they seem to feel compelled to participate in. Well, you’re wrong. Clearly, you’re not someone who understands what it is to give your life to your career or the gift of being able to manage your money and your life so that you can take it back before it’s too late. This was Cary’s decision. One that I urged him to make years ago. He’s so incredibly talented. I hope that he takes this time to enjoy everything that he’s missed until now. Good for you for making the leap. It’s a very courageous move that most people only dream about making!
There will be no one left of what was once a spectacular institution. Why did they even bother with the name?
Ari said that within three years of the merger, he wanted the same number of agents that Endeavor had prior to the merger. That’s why he squeezed everyone into Endeavor’s existing offices and broke the lease for the large building that WMA was about to move into on Beverly.
Cary is a fantastic guy. He handled the merger like a champ, and he’ll do well wherever he lands.
Cary is a true class act!!!
Cary is a great guy and a terrific Agent. He has done a wonderful job for a very long time.
Berman is the best Agent around – they don’t make them like this anymore. A class act and a very loyal guy – now maybe I’ll be able to get him to Rep me again.
A great guy. Onward and upward buddy.
I had no idea Endeavor even had a commercial department before the merger. This is shocking.
I’d love to know how many agents are actually left from WMA?…
All of Music/PA, most of MP lit, a lot of non-scripted TV, all of books, theater… then just a handful of others.
I’ve shared clients with Cary and his group for many years. He and his partner Tim Curtis are hands down the two best celebrity endorsement agents in the entire business. They are always honest, kind but firm, and have made my clients a hell of a lot of money. I wish they could represent all of my clients. I don’t know Jessica well, but I’m glad Tim will still be there to hold down the fort.
I was lucky to work with cary on a deal for a top female celeb. He is 100% a class act. The best in the business and honest. whoever he goes, he will do well.
Cary is a terrific agent and a friend and mentor to many. I’ve never met a kinder man. He will be missed terribly.
what is going on at wme?! another great one leaves the sinking ship.
Cary is the greatest. He is a leader when needed, a mentor when needed, and most importantly, a friend when needed. I am so happy he is leaving at his discretion, and not WME’s. He is classy and deserves to be treated classy. He deserves only the best.
Good luck Cary. As many people have said, “when you leave that place even the food tastes better!”
Cary is in old school gentleman agent. Buyers respect him. Clients like him. Cary can do whatever he wants at this point.
Hey JMF, how does it feel watching the family company so many of our ancestors sacrificed for, just die and be scavenged?
Cary Berman is one of the most wonderful people I have ever known. When I started at Disney Feature Animation many years ago, he was the first agent to call and welcome me and offer me his support. He has mentored all of his assistants – many of whom are now excellent agents themselves. Cary is a good, kind person. He is loyal, honest and caring. I am so happy that he has moved out of a job that made him unhappy and is now out in the world ready to shine. Go Cary!!
Just wanted to reiterate all of the positive things said so far about Cary. I worked with him for 15 years at WMA and NEVER saw anything but complete professionalism in everything that he did. I will go out of my way to support him in his future endeavors (perhaps a bad choice of words). CLASS ACT – another good one bites the dust at WMEE. Cary – DON’T LOOK BACK FOR EVEN A MINUTE!
when are all these agents going to team up and start a new power agency?! david guillod im talking to you!
Cary is one of the best agents I’ve known. I’ve been working in the agency business for a decade and have worked closely with him most of that time. He is a class act and I hope he gets whatever he is looking for. What a wonderful human being!
Has Cary landed anywhere? Is he retired?
Now he has time to enjoy life for HIMSELF!
One of the best this business has.
