EXCLUSIVE: The Office co-star John Krasinski has signed with WME. He comes from CAA where he was represented for the past six years. Krasinski recently closed a one-year deal to continue on NBC’s The Office, where he is among the core cast members whose presence is expected to be beefed up following the pending departure of star Steve Carell. On the big screen, Krasinski next stars in Something Borrowed opposite Kate Hudson and has 2 other features in the pipeline.

John K’s a very good character actor, as are many on The Office.
Anyone know what John, Jenna, Rain, Angela, and Ed Helms, make on their new contracts?
I’m curious about what NBC pays them.
“Friends” finished its last season pulling Nielsen 18 million.
“The Office” only pulls 7 million-yet, NBC anchors their Thursday night comedy lineup with this relatively low-rated sitcom.
NBC paid $1M per episode to EACH of the cast of “Friends” at the end.
I wonder what NBC pays the cast of “The Office”?
He left CAA, the top talent agency? Interesting! Wonder why he’d do that.
Oh yeah, EVERYONE is happy at CAA. Please.
Never really cared for him, but saw a sneak preview of Something Borrowed last night and he totally saves it. He was hilarious, in a pretty bland movie.
WB didn’t want Krasinski for Superman, not a muscle man. Couldn’t scare a fly.
You sure it was Superman? I believe he tested for Captain America at the very least. Never heard he was testing for Superman, though.
There’s just something about him that I like and find appealing on THE OFFICE; maybe it’s because his character is a rarity: a nice guy. Whether he’ll have a career past The Office remains to be seen.
I can’t stand him on The Office. At least since the 3rd season. I don’t think Jim is a nice guy at all. He’s a Nice Guy, which is the worst kind of a guy- a total douche who thinks he’s actually a nice guy.
He also seems the same in every role now, which is unfortunate.
I totally agree. His character turned into a d*bag boss. Completely unlikeable frat boy. Once he got together with Pam his character, actually both of theirs, became dead airtime. I’d prefer him leaving to chase that film career he thinks he deserves.
Sorry, but the show loses 98% of it’s appeal without Carell.
What point does this prove? He wasn’t right for the role. Neither would Tom Hanks be but he’s a bona-fide star.
Away We Go 2?
WME has been on a tear lately.
Hah! This is called a tear?
He went with Whitesell? That I get. Even though CAA put him in some terrible movies (that wedding one with Mandy Moore!!), I’m not sure he could ask for a better career given his range. He’s done some good indies, some bad studio films, and is on a solid TV series. No agent could get him a superhero franchise. A physical trainee on the other hand….
Krasinski is great. Hope is feature career takes off!
Wonder why he left CAA. Seems like he’s been doing pretty good.
Krasinski is talent…good for him to try and get some better film opportunities. Seems like a genuine guy.
I don’t understand why someone goes from CAA to WME or vise versa. you’re basically getting the same thing. if you’re gonna change things up, then change things up! it makes more sense to go from one of those agencies to a UTA/Gersh/Paradigm where that person would get more focus and be more of a priority. John K doesn’t mean jack to CAA, and he’ll probably find the same at WME. But at those other places, they’d tear it up for him.
I assume he will have a great career like um Zach Braff? Hope he is luck enough to find another sitcom someday
Zach lost his career because he was such a d-bag that no studio or other actors would work with him. He dug his own grave. JK is a great guy and will remain a solid character actor. WME will not be able to help him much. He had a good team at CAA and they put him in all the right rooms.
But a change was needed. But going from CAA to WME is more about the steal from CAA than actually helping JK.
But hey, I am a pretty big producer and I have decided that wherever possible, I don’t do business with CAA. So now I can find some small roles for JK.
He plays a clueless character on the office and now he buys into Venit’s B.S., guess he is an idiot in real life as well.
probably got tired of the lisak/heyman bull
Another actor falls for whitesell’s bull$h!*. Soon you too will find out it’s all smoke and mirrors.
I’m surprised NBC only resigned him for one season. I assumed they would be scrambling to get Krasinski, Ed Helms and Rainn Wilson signed for 2-3 seasons to keep them all from bailing at once if Office takes a ratings hit next season.
I was wonder if this means he was signed for S9? I thought most of the cast except for Carell were already signed for S8.
