KATIE HOLMES ? what , there was nobody else more deserving of this. I don’t buy it. Tom bought her this award
Katie Holmes for “Face of the Future”? What is this, 1998?
Katie Holmes is the future of film like cigarettes are the future of lung cancer prevention…
I was with you up until the Face of the Future…then I doubled over laughing. Oh honey, that ship has sailed. Wonder how much this cost Tom?
“… chosen to honor some of the most creative, dynamic and forceful women in the entertainment industry, those who excel and lead by example.”
Katie Holmes?
LOL, exactly! Must eb a typo.
I would love to know the real story on this one.
I’m more surprised by the fact she’s the “face of the future”. They’re rather late on that by about 15 years.
Her name stood out like a sore thumb. “Face of the future”? Yikes. Must be seriously slim pickins in Hollywood these days.
Remember the old Sesame Street Song “One of These Things is Not Like the Others”?
Katie Holmes did a little modeling for Max Mara this year. Guess it paid off…..well that and the fact that her “husband” paid for the award just as he does with most of the roles she gets.
How’d they keep a straight face announcing her as an honoree?
Great for Pamela Fryman! Love love love HIMYM!
WIF LA,
COME ON, Nobody knows who you are and you just lost credibility.
Women in Film has done good things over the years to bring awareness and recognition to the many ladies (growing more and more daily) in the film industry. WIF deserves kudos for their efforts in what has long been “a good old boys” club.
That being said, I cannot comprehend the Katie Holmes award. In a sense, I feel sorry for Katie as being “Mrs. Tom Cruise” seems to have been more damaging than helpful. We may never know at this rate what kind of talent she may or may not have…but, this award certainly doesn’t do anything other than make us question…what was WIF thinking???????
Bad move.
Huge kudos to Pamela Fryman. Really a talented and humble director.
Honestly, what were they they thinking with putting Katie Holmes on a list anywhere near a talent like Annette Bening? Kaie has been is so many projects recently that have done poorlý and where she has gotten bad reviews. She has been wearing a lot of Max Mara lately. So obviously some kind of deal was struck for her to get this award. She must be delusional to even be able to show up and avvept it.
Katie Holmes will be the Forgotten Face Of Tomorrow.
This is truly sad. There are incredible actresses out there who have deserved this accolade this past year. She’s not one of them…
Ha! You beat me to the punch.
KATIE HOLMES face of the future???? But… but… she is too old!!
Why is everyone hating on Katie Holmes so much? Yes, Face of the Future is a bit odd because she has quite a past, but I like her. She’s a good actress. And pretty. She takes chances. She’s gotten a little weird lately, I admit that, but she’s still interesting to watch. Do you really think Tom Cruise could pay for such an award? Is that possible? What, he just makes a HUGE donation to Women in Film and boom she gets an award? Hmmmm…. T&N
Congratulations to Reed Morano!!!! I can still remember the summer when she cut her first reel!!! She is truly an amazing person!!!!
katie holmes?! who chose her? the golden globe jury?
“2011 Lucy Award for Excellence in Television – NINA TASSLER
Women In Film Max Mara “Face of the Future®” 2011 – KATIE HOLMES”
This is exactly why WIF will never be taken seriously.
