A month after Mike Jelline left ICM, where he was head of TV Talent, to join UTA as a talent agent, the dust has settled on which of his clients will join him at the new agency. The bulk of them did, with the total currently at 13. The list includes Desperate Housewives co-star Vanessa Williams; Jason O‘Mara, star of the Spielberg/Chernin-produced Fox fall series Terra Nova; Morena Baccarin, star of ABC’s V; Jeremy Sisto, star of the hot ABC comedy pilot Suburgatory; Skeet Ulrich, most recently of Law and Order: LA; Natalie Zea, co-star of FX’s Justified; Paula Malcomson, who was just cast opposite Jennifer Lawrence in Hunger Games; Philip Winchester, star of the Cinemax action series Strike Back; Steven R. McQueen (Vampire Diaries); Lennie James (HBO’s Hung, Colombiana); Megan Dodds, female lead opposite Ethan Hawke in the Fox’s pilot Exit Strategy; Chyler Leigh, who co-stars on Grey’s Anatomy; and J. August Richards (TNT’s Raising the Bar).

Who? Besides Vanessa Williams, this is embarrassing, especially for a guy who headed the department.
Nice try, ICM asst. They’re all talented, they’re all working, and they’re all no longer at ICM.
13 clients are the “bulk” of a 12 year agent’s list? Agree with Mara that there’s not much quality to match the not much quantity. At least he’s a nice guy though. Hope UTA didn’t overpay for him as much as they have their past few hires.
Wrong. I used to work at ICM – it’s a miracle after 12 years he has such a solid stable of actors to take out the door. Being a talent agent at ICM is hazardous to your health!!!!
so 13 clients, so what? maybe the guy gave all his attention to them all the time and didnt pile up 100s of clients to give them no jobs.
Lots of TV money on this list… wouldn’t be so quick to discount
you, mara ,are a know nothing that should keep comments to yourself. his list is a good one and uta is pleased and icm is licking its wounds. are you a wannabe tv person who is actually a shoe salesmen?
Solid agent. Solid clients.
ICM = a TV Agency and these are some of their most prized clients. The rats are jumping off the sinking ship! More to follow no doubt…. Good work Jelline.
I heard that ICM dropped half of those clients when Mike Jelline left the agency.
then you heard wrong
Jason O’Mara is a stud. Always loved him. UTA will do for him what ICM could not.
I dont know that any agency can actually cure a showkiller
What a waste of time, these 2 places are going to trade agents and clients for the next year or so and then merge. How’s about this: instead of trying to beat the other place, try focusing on getting your clients jobs!
Who has jumped to ICM from UTA, exactly? Do you actually know what you are talking about?
Wait, don’t get up, I’ll answer for you: You don’t. So shut your mouth.
Didn’t I just read on here that Dennis Haysbert just fired ICM for UTA??? I’m noticing a trend here….
I will just keep hitting ‘refresh’ on my web browser and will see who is next.
Really–not such a great pick up by UTA…clients are ok but UTA’s list is already great. this hurt ICM more then it helped UTA.
Man we’ve seen agent names mentioned in this blog that had far weaker lists. Anybody remember when WMA was firing agents. Most of those had no lists or five clients with no names yet they got press releases here. This list ain’t bad at all in TV which is money!!! Sorry honey. What do you do?
Hey “Jim” you give these actors credit as being TV money makers and you also say ICM is a TV agency that is a sinking ship…all that money from the projects mentioned with those actors goes to ICM. You don’t know what you’re talking about
Good point. All of these deals were made by ICM. They will continue to collect the commission even when they are at UTA. By the way, most of these clients are has-beens.
Great point. ICM is laughing… all the commissions, none of the head aches.
Oh ICM has headaches….namely the fact that no one wants to be there and the agency is falling apart bit by bit.
Awesome. Combined commission on the lot of these tools doesn’t buy a caesar salad – but good for you Mike.
Jelline may not be the classiest guy in the biz, but these are working actors with big quotes. This is business. He did what he had to do for HIMSELF. Smart dude, but still a dick.
UTA was on role picking off clients one at a time but somehow they always seem to hire the unwanted agent with the marginal client list. Why?
GIve me a break you guys! ICM is just pissed. Period. MIke Jelline is one of the industry’s best agents and the clients who followed him to UTA made that decision on there own – mainly because they think he is great. If he wasn’t doing a good job keeping them employed while he was at ICM, then why in the hell would they follow him to UTA? Think about it! Besides, his future doesn’t rely ONLY on the 13 clients that followed him, stars are discovered everyday and I’m sure when we look back on this 10 years from now, his list of clients will continue to be just as impressive. Congratulations Mike! And for Mara – get a life!
You can’t be a “has-been” if you’re still ON. And as Sam Donaldson once said, “Better to have been a has-been than a never was.”
