After a 10-year hunt, who thought we would catch Osama bin Laden anytime soon? The producers of NBC’s Chuck certainly didn’t as they had a case of very unfortunate timing with a scene in tonight’s episode. Airing less than 24 hours after the news of bin Laden’s killing, the episode featured former Marine John Casey (Adam Baldwin) heading for a shooting range with his “favorite target” in hand, a picture of bin Laden with big targets on his forehead and chest (the latter is hard to see from my screen grab.) By eerie coincidence, bin Laden was reportedly killed with two shots: one to the head and one to the chest. Unless this wasn’t a coincidence but the human Intersect at work …
TV Editor Nellie Andreeva - tip her here.

Conspiracy Theory: The CIA pitches script ideas to tv and movie studios.
Or, you know, it’s typical to shoot someone in the head and in the chest to make sure they’re dead…
Yes, not a coincidence at all. That’s how SEALS are trained. The ‘double-tap’ it’s called.
And the targets are built for that reason as well.
i had a good chuckle when i saw that, it is the Intersect at work!
Chuck’s still on the air!?!?
But seriously, renew it for a final season and move it to Friday.
There is no way that NBC is going to renew Chuck. It seems like every week, Nellie let’s us know that the show got yet another series low rating.
Renew Chuck for THREE more seasons, they way they did for Two and a half Men. Do it before one of the cast members realizes they have tiger blood and goes nuts.
Seriously, this episode was a mother lode of GOOD for Chuck, politically correct or other disagree-ers notwithstanding.
Doesn’t that cross-haired image violate the new PC world we live in?
Easy fix for the re-run: throw in a line about John Casey wanting to kill the *real bin Laden.*
Only someone in Hollywood would think there’s anything “unfortunate” about the death of a mass murderer.
I thought it was PERFECT timing! Gave me a huge chuckle.
And for Walter, CHUCK’S numbers were UP last night, not great but at least they were up. CHUCK is also the web’s most downloaded show, which advertisers & broadcasters now take into consideration. Those numbers don’t show up on Nielsen, but they can see how many people download the show. The We Give A Chuck campaign IS helping.
I for one, pray CHUCK is renewed, but PLEASE give it a chance and don’t schedule it opposite that reality crap that so many people seem to be addicted to… we need scripted programming! Are there things about the show I would change? Absolutely… but since I don’t have that authority, I’ll take what they give us! Just as long as they keep giving it to us!
One more comment, Chicago Code is a great show, it deserves another season to find its audience.
How exactly is that unfortunate?
That scene was great, so timely. Chuck is a cool show but the one thing that would make it better would be more Casey!! Keep it up and don’t worry about the PC crap!
