BBC America’s top U.K. comedy imports will air in a block. Branded Ministry of Laughs, the two-hour block will launch June 18 at 10 PM. Included in it are The Inbetweeners, an all-new season of the BAFTA-winning teen comedy, which is being remade by MTV; Come Fly With Me, the new project from Matt Lucas and David Walliams, creators and writers of Little Britain; and Friday Night Dinner, created and written by Robert Popper (South Park). Returning for all-new seasons are award-winning series That Mitchell & Webb Look, The Thick of It and Peep Show. Kicking off the first hour of the slot are U.S. premiere episodes of The Graham Norton Show. “There’s nothing quite like British comedy, and since joining last year one of my key ambitions has been to showcase the very best of it here on BBC America, said Perry Simon, General Manager, Channels, BBC Worldwide America.

Wow – actually running British shows and not reruns of AMERICAN shows like X-Files and Star Trek:The Next Generation.
Now we need more nights like this!
I agree with Mr.Fin. i switch cable company to get BBCAmerica to watch British tv shows. not American shows and yes i am an American but i just love British tv shows
they’re dropping these shows on the air mid-summer Saturday night??
That’s a TV twilight zone.
What a joke that BBCA is scheduling these comedies at 11pm on Saturday nights instead of getting rid or Gordon Ramsay or the two nights of movie repeats in primetime. This channel is run by a bunch of morons.
Little Britain was great but Come Fly With Me sucked. I didn’t even watch all six episodes of it.
Another season of “The Inbetweeners”, “Peep Show” and “That Mitchell and Webb Look” is great news! I can’t believe this story did not make TVLine.
I agree with Herb…there has got to be more British comedy and drama that can be played on BBCA instead of American shows.
Burying these comedies on Saturday night at 11pm is a really stupid decision.
Right now, repeats of US movies air on Sunday AND Thursday in primetime (the SAME movie both nights). Why not put the 2-hour comedy block (starting with a repeat of the previous week’s Graham Norton, then following with two new comedies) from 9-11 pm on Sunday or Thursday when there are more potential viewers?
Dropped BBC america when they stopped showing EastEnders… they are showing american shows…….LAME LAME LAME
Ho-hum, there’s nothing quite like watching heavily bleeped shows on bbcamerica. I can hardly wait.
A Brit here who also thought the first episode of Come Fly With Me was really lame. However, it did improve as it went along so worth sticking with. The problem is that it spoofs a UK show (Airline) that was a cliche ridden parody of itself despite being a documentary! So a comedy spoof of a series like that was on a sticky wicket from the off. Still the series has been renewed and so we shall see and at least it is a step up from the dire old ladies being sick stuff in later Little Britain eps.
