What a day! CBS just joined the pickup frenzy with orders to its two hottest pilots on the drama and comedy side. The network is making calls to producers at the moment, and the first to get one was none other than J.J. Abrams, whose Person of Interest has been picked up to series. The crime drama written by Jonah Nolan and starring Jim Caviezel and Michael Emerson had been building momentum, recently emerging as the frontrunner at the network on the drama side. Also picked up is the Michael Patrick King/Whitney Cummings comedy Two Broke Girls starring Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs. While Cummings will do her new NBC comedy series, which is in first position, King, whose NBC drama pilot A Mann’s World didn’t go forward, is expected to be full-time on the CBS comedy, probably co-running it with another comedy writer-producer.

COME ON RINGER! PLEASE CBS
What about GENTLEMAN? Drama + Cricket = I’m there every week!!! Come on Moonves!
I second Andrew, Come on “Ringer”!
Rob Schneider’s pilot was laugh out loud funny? Can’t believe its’ not gotten the call.
I agree with you, Rob Schneider!
Come on Hail Mary. I need my PI/Noir fix.
Sorry George — even if it does get a nod… There’s nothing noir about Hail Mary. There’s barely even anything PI about it.
AWESOME!!!!TWO BROKE GIRLS WAS HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also cw will reveal today his show, or will be the more stupid one and left us wait until next thursday?
RIIIIIIINGER RINGERRRRRR RINGERR PLEASE!!!
I was at the taping- it was hilarious! Those girls are SO adorable… can’t wait!
If Ringer doesn’t get picked I will be really disappointed, as well as angry at CBS.
Then you’re stupid. What the hell is the point of getting mad at a network? Believe it or not, they’re not personally trying to screw you. Doesn’t matter, since I doubt you’re really an outraged fan anyway.
I third “Ringer”
let’s go Susannah Grant… CBS have faith in demme!
it’s going to be ROOKIES, THE REMEMBERER and the UNT. GRANT MEDICAL. guaranteed! No RINGER folk.
I’m gonna be so mad if Ringer doesn’t get picked up. It stars SMG and had an amazing script.
My two most anticipated shows. Person of Interest has me so excited.
RInger!
on CW?! perfect–weird but perfect!
yay Kat Dennings is gonna be on my tv every week!
Why is nobody talking about The Doctor? Tested through the roof, AMAZING cast, directed by the best pilot director in the business?
uhhhhh…where did u get ur info on the test? lol. it did not test well and has been in bad shape since the table read. as far as an “AMAZING cast” is concerned i would have to strongly disagree. Christine Lahti yes but the rest? yikes. And Lahti has apparently been the problem.
It’s great when 30 year old women are called: “Girls”. It’s almost as condescending as Cougartown.
you’re stupid, they’re both in their early 20s. Still considered girls.
The term “girls” is literally meant to describe children and teenagers. You can find this information in a thing called a dictionary. The comment wasn’t about whether they were 30 or 25. If you refer to women in their twenties as girls, you’re probably a misogynist. Read a book; it will surprise you.
What about “Home Game”?? Rob Riggle is the epitome of funny!!!
Any word on CM: Suspect Behavior?
Ummm…kat and Beth are both like 24 or 25. U obviously know not of what you speak.
Person of Interest is gonna own. Can’t wait to see what JN and JJA have cooked up! Go CBS!
JJ is great though not always, did anybody see Undercover last year? More importantly has anybody ever seen Jim Caviezel do anything half way entertaining when he had to talk! He is so boring is blows me away CBS is going to give him a show. emerson can maybe carry him.
What is the deal here? Are they going to announce over the weekend or make people wait until the actual upfronts? Ridiculous – make up your minds folks – Rob Schneider and The Rememberer please….
“Two Broke Girls” will be off the air by Thanksgiving!! “Laverne and Shirley” was a Spin-Off from “Happy Days” and they had Garry Marshall at the Helm. Michael Patrick King is no Garry Marshall. CBS gave up a show with 10.5 Million Viewers for this CRAP!! The brilliant minds of Nina Tassler and Les Moonves!
