Charlie Sheen today reacted to the news of Ashton Kutcher’s hiring to replace him on Two and a Half Men with a few snarky one-liners, all vintage Warlock. “Kutcher is a sweetheart and a brilliant comedic performer … Oh wait, so am I!!” he told TMZ. As for Men, “Enjoy the show America. Enjoy seeing a 2.0 in the demo every Monday, WB,” he told series producer Warner Bros. TV. Men this week sunk to a 2.0 rating in 18-49 with a repeat. It wouldn’t be a Sheen statement without a reference of his archenemy, Men co-creator/executive producer Chuck Lorre. “Enjoy planet Chuck, Ashton. There is no air, laughter, loyalty, or love there.”

Can we asume that Ashton’s inclusion in this means the whole thing is an elaborate ‘Punk’d’ episode?
Utterly and profoundly confused by this choice. Ashton Kutcher is undisputed pop culture poison. Money doesn’t lie. (Has CBS not seen the freakishly huge losses his movies and TV shows have amassed?) He is the Liza Minnelli of the new millennium. The worst idea since making ROSANNE a lottery winner. Or UGLY BETTY pretty.
What the naysayers who just don’t like Ashton because of personal preference fail to understand is that the last sitcom he headlined, “That 70′s Show”, was a ratings smash for seasons and brought in TONS of ad dollars. THAT is why he was picked to replace Sheen here.
NUMBERS don’t lie. You don’t like Ashton? Don’t watch the show. No one is forcing you.
It doesn’t change that Ashton Fox sitcom did not have the same ratings than Two and a Half with Sheen as the lead, moreover Topher Grace was the lead on That’s 70 show, Ashton was good as Kelso the sidekick character..so we will see how works this new Two and a Half Men..time will tell..
Not only did That 70s Show have high ratings, doesn’t Kutcher have the most followers on Twitter? PUH-LEEZ spare us your comments about Kutcher’s low ratings.
I never watched 2 1/2 Men or That 70s Show (I’m not their demographic) but I know that CBS made a very good BUSINESS decision by hiring Kutcher.
I really can’t wait to see the ratings. And I look forward to reading about how Charlie WON his lawsuits for back pay, etc.

Sheen may actually be “winning” on this one. Who in their right mind thinks Kutcher 1.) is worth 22 million a year; and 2.) is the right fit for this series? Hugh Grant wasn’t a much better fit, but he was certainly a far better choice than Kutcher. Does this mean we’ll now have to put with cameos from plastic Demi Moore?
I heard that he was getting bet/ $800-900K per episode, not $1 million.
2.0 ? Please, I think it’s fairly certain that at least the first few episodes will bring in HUGE ratings simply due to the replacement-publicity…I hope Sheen won’t get a stroke then.

I hope that they finally cancel this series. I am bored of it. Charlie Sheen had such a promising career and I am so disappointed to see the direction that his life and career has gone. He has done some great movies in his time such as Wall Street (1987), The Three Musketeers (1993), The Arrival (1996), Shadow Conspiracy (1997), Postmortem (1998), etc. I always wanted him to just do mainstream movies, particularly serious films and dramas, try to reach his full potential as an actor, join the A-list and try to win an Oscar. But now I have just given up on him. He hasn’t surpassed his father, Martin Sheen who still gets better roles and does bigger movies and he has become the laughing stock of Hollywood.

hahahaha who said British men were unattractive? what about Gerard Butler? Jason Statham? Colin Firth? (the list goes on) Most women all over the world think British men (like other Europeans) are much hotter than American men and their accent is not weird at all. Have you ever thought that THEY invented their language in the first place? Americans just borrowed it and changed the accent. Can’t wait to see what these writers write up for Kutcher and they probably will poke a little fun at Sheen as the old character is some way…. it’s going to be a different show, but hopefully it works out and yes, his viral popularity, Twitter, Nikon commercials, etc. will really help increase ratings as long as the first EP doesn’t flop because if first EP with Kutcher sucks, majority of die hard fans will lose interest and then good bye tv series because ratings will suffer and they will just pull the plug

Though I’m not a Kutcher fan, he is similar to the eye candy Charlie Sheen was five years ago. Who knows? Surrounded by the great Two and a Half Men cast, he may be okay.
I always thought a great story line would’ve been for Charlie to run off to Paris and marry Rose, and leave his beach house and a substantial sum to Jake, as a final revenge on Alan.

I so happen to agree with you on everything. There are no morals left anywhere it seems…I never saw a whole episode of this show because of Sheen, Kutcher seems like a moraly stable person, so I will check out the show now. But I am glad Charlie is suing the WB and I hope he wins so that maybe the WB and others would hold their actors accountable for their behavior. Charlie got away with so much, and they kept him on for years, like I said, glad he is suing and hope he wins the suit.
