EXCLUSIVE: ‘Thor’ star Chris Hemsworth has emerged as a front runner to star in Snow White and the Huntsman, the Universal fairy tale that also Charlize Theron and Kristen Stewart. Rupert Sanders is directing. Hemsworth’s stock is up as Thor continues to clean up overseas in anticipation of Friday’s domestic opening for the Kenneth Branagh-directed Marvel film. It isn’t clear yet whether Hemsworth will take that role. Stay tuned.

Agreed, Moot. Hemsworth should steer clear of this project.
There’s a reason why Jackman and Mortensen turned this down….because the role isn’t worth having! Hemsworth is going to be a leading man in action movies in his own right after Thor. This whole Snow White-as-a- bad-ass concept is lame. He may not be an Oscar worthy type actor, but he could be the next Bruce Willis/Sylvestor Stallone type of his generation, but he has GOT to steer clear of this tween crap!!
I also see him as the next Bruce and for that he should choose the right action movies which could bring him a lot of money.
He needs to turn this role down. He’s poised to be an action star with the success of Thor, which could make him the Bruce Willis/Sylvestor Stallone of his generation. Playing second fiddle to Stewart’s supposed action flick isn’t what he needs. He’s got to stay away from this tween girl stuff if he wants to keep credibility with American male audiences.

Yep, which renders the whole “Huntsman is a mentor, not love interest” idea pointless. Who in their right mind would pick Prince Charming over him?

Nope. It would be clear from the start that the prince is a boring boy while the huntsman is super hot. So predicable.
This casting is a terrible idea especially compared to Viggo or Fassbender…
No it`s a better idea from commerical POV. Viggo is a boxoffice poison (stop living in 2003 Viggo fanboys, he didn`t have a hit since then and LOTR certainly didn`t open because of him) and Fassbender didn`t break out in a big way yet to draw big audience. OTOH, Hemsworth is praised for his charisma and carrying Thor by all crirics 9the movie is over 90% fresh so it`s a concensus).
I still think this movie is a bad idea especially since another one is already in production.
viggo is a way better actor though. not to mention hugh jackman was in talks, then i read depp was another name thrown around. then fassbender. now it’s almost like whoever isn’t working on something better will get the role. so if chris gets a better movie offer bet he will go that way.

If you’ve seen the remake of star trek you have already seen that he can act. He played kirks dad. You know the giuy that made you cry like a little baby for the first five minutes
