David Sarosi of Keith Olbermann’s old Countdown show on MSNBC has been named executive producer of Olbermann’s new Countdown on Current TV, which will premiere June 20. “Nobody knows what Countdown should be, more than Dave Sarosi,” said Olbermann, host of Countdown With Keith Olbermann and Chief News Officer at Current. For the past five years, Sarosi produced two key segments of the MSNBC show: the program “open,” which posed the question “Which of these stories will you be talking about tomorrow?” and the often-controversial Worst Persons in the World. Joining Sarosi as senior producers are Leslie Bella-Henry, Bob Lilly and Aaron Volkman.

“Countdown to cancellation” is a more appropriate title.
If you’re looking for the channel on your cable system. It’s just past the Lithuanian news channel. If you pass the North Korean public access channel you’ve gone too far.
Wow EP for Countdown with Kieth Olberman on Current TV. I’d rather be hanging off the back of a garbage truck.
Post summer cancellation of additional MSNBC shows is more likely, as ratings continue to drop and that network scrambles for a lineup to take them into the next elections. Watch as ousted hosts with actual opinions join Olbermann on Current.
I’m sure it’ll be the highest-rated show in Current’s history, and after 2-3 years, KO and Gore will have a public falling out that’ll end with Gore selling his stake in Current, or KO burning some more bridges and moving on to be Chief News Person for the Green channel.
Whoa. I can feel a “thrill going up my leg.”
I wonder how it will do with lead-ins like BarKarma and clip shows of burning man? What a news station! KO will be all dressed up with nowhere to go. Repeats of RedEye will beat it at 2:00 am.
Keiths opinion on issues doesn’t matter, whenever he opens his mouth nonsense comes out.
I think it’s pretty telling (and awesome) that Olbermann has so clearly struck a nerve in the so-called “conservative” public. The shallow name-calling and vile comments (they’ll be here, don’t you worry) are indicative of much, much more than opposing viewpoints – they’re indicative of rampant insecurity in the conservative base; insecurity of your current leadership and further, your choices for the 2012 elections. You people just don’t like having your so-called “leaders” shown in an honest and bright light. “Heads back in the sand, everyone – they’re showing those videos of Bush and Cheney again!”
Keith Olbermann is not a “news reporter”, he’s a pundit (though I can’t stand that term). He has a strong and loyal following because of his no-bullshit approach to politics. Something ALL of us should step back and take a look at, instead of following along with the bouncing ball (and short skirts) on Fox.
Olbermann left MSNBC with his integrity intact, and by his own choice. No idea how this new show on Gore’s TV channel (not a fan of Gore, personally) will go, but at least he’ll have some room to continue doing what he does. Can Keith go overboard sometimes? Sure. But he reports on the news and offers his opinions with honesty – not with racial undertones and fear-mongering, which seems to make most of the conservative public tick (see: Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Michelle Bachman, Mrs. Palin…)
We saw all we want to see of Keith on ESPN and MSNBC. Defending him is like defending underwear skidmarks, and going after Fox is just the last gasp of a dying lib POV. Boohoo Fox is all mean and completely popular, so I’ll stick with a loser like Keith. Brilliant.
Hi Keith!
Insecurity? Did you see the results of the election in November? Thank God for the fear mongering and the name calling It seems to be working brilliantly. Unfortunately the class warfare ,spread the wealth message just doesn’t seem to be getting any traction. See ya Kieth. Are Rachel and Bashir far behind? Maybe they can start their own network. They can call it Air America…oh wait… thats right….that didn’t work the last time….Nevermind.
As for Olberman himself, he’s like most other libs. Angry, unrealistic and delusional.
You wish.
The November elections were a changing of the guard, not a change in real leadership. Republicans have no strong leaders, period – not even a presidential hopeful at this point. Boehner is failing as House Speaker, too many Repub dirty little secrets being reported, Republicans have almost all voted to end Medicare (and are again holding the country hostage to get their way) which the American public DOES NOT WANT, and which will further damage their chances in the next election.
I completely agree that the way we do politics MUST change, and I’m sure there are many ways to trim the budget that politicians don’t want to touch (single-payer insurance, oil rebates, reduced taxes for the wealthy, etc) because they all profit personally from these entities – and I mean both parties. But this isn’t the place for a political debate. You have your opinions, I have mine.
Keith is very good at shining a light on the shortcomings and lies from the so-called “conservatives” in politics. Without him and his show, we all would know much, much less about the bad shit going on in Washington.
And Rachel Maddow has the best show on MSNBC, hands down.
This description fits Beck to a tee. Is that who you mean???
I love the way Keith spinns up the right wing crazies. They can’t stand the truth.
Like Harry Truman, KO tells the truth and the ringt winggers think it’s hell.
I wish our cable company offered Current TV. I would watch his new show for sure.
