Craig Bierko has been cast in The Three Stooges, the Peter and Bobby Farrelly-directed comedy for 20th Century Fox. Beirko, who had some funny moments in those Scary Movie films, will play Mac, one of the heavies trying to exploit the Stooges. He recently appeared on FX’s Damages, and he is next is on the big screen in Universal’s The Change-Up. He joins Chris Diamantopoulos, who is signing on to play Moe; Will Sasso, who will play Curly; and Sean Hayes, as Larry Fine. Production is set to begin this month.

Shooting on 3 Stooges started this past Monday, in Cartersville, Georgia
And somewhere in town, a man named Caleb rejoices.
Bierko also starred in their TV series Unhitched. How did that not get a reference here?!
Seriously, who will go see this? Women hate the Stooges, so there’s 50% of your audience gone right there. Tweens and teens? They’re playing video games and watching Glee and won’t relate to three odd-looking Jewish guys from the 1930s that they never heard of anyway. Gen X and Y? Too busy with careers and kids. Boomers? They don’t go to movies. Old folks? Come on. So who’s left?
This sounds like a great project- frankly, you can’t go wrong with the Farrelly team- their humor translates to all demographics and ages. By the way, dear Deadline writers and editors, the name is spelled “Craig” which rhymes with “Craig” as in “Craig Bierko”.
