Donald Sutherland Joins ‘The Hunger Games’

• Perfect casting! It was really between him and Malcolm McDowell in terms of “the look” of Snow. Sutherland always plays scary creepy really well – he will have so much fun with this role (in the second and third movies in particular)!

  • uh excuse me but you cannot compare mcdowell to sutherland – who is a national treasure. loved him in ordinary people, one of the best performances and films ever of that decade. he is brill, absolutely one of the best actors of all time.

• I can see this, although i did imagine President Snow as more of a smaller man with a bit of a Napolean’s complex. Still…love Donald Sutherland so think this is a pretty good casting. Getting very excited for the movie!

• I always pictured someone younger and more polished-looking for the ruler of Panem, but I can’t possible quibble with the decision to go with such an amazingly talented actor.

• Željko Ivanek (The Magister from “True Blood”) would have been perfect. He has the physical attributes (height, age, hair-color) and the ability to play pure menace. Donald Sutherland does “crazy” more than “cruel”. We’ll see…

• Donald Sutherland is a phenomenal actor who brings his characters to life with such grace and credibility.

  While you may prefer another actor in this role…Mr. Sutherland will be terrific as we all know.

• Goodness name an actor who hasn’t joined Hunger Games. I agree Mr. Ivanek would be perfect for this role than Sutherland.
