Well I know what I’m doing August 19…. anything else!
those jack in the box sandwiches look horrible!
the movie looks like fun. i look forward to it.
This looks painfully stupid. DOA.
Hmm, small wonder this is skedded for August…
They morphed this classic that is the original into Buffy with a guy? And where is David Tennant?
Vampurbia with Collin Feral!
Looks great. I’m in.
Damn it you beat me to it!
Actually Disturbia was a rip off of the original Fright Night from the 80′s.

There are no original ideas left that involve vampires, robots, the future, post apocalypse, warewolves, identity exchange, super heroes, boy meets girl, strippers or talking animals.
Disturbia has more in common with Rear Window than Fright Night.
Actually, they’re BOTH a rip-off of REAR WINDOW. Does your so-called education in movies stop at Star Wars?
If Disturbia is a ripoff of the original Fright Night, then the original Fright Night was a ripoff of the classic Hitchcock film Rear Window. The producers of Disturbia were actually sued for blatantly copying the story from Rear Window.
Actually more like an updated version of Rear Window…
So… they like just gave away the entire movie in this trailer. Why exactly do I want to go and see this in the theaters now? Perhaps less would have been more in this case.
Where is David Tennant????
Good script. But then I read an early draft.
This looks edited down to fit PG-13.
Thank Twilight. Sparkle, sparkle.
Wow, David Tennant was only in one very quick shot and didn’t have any lines in this trailer. He was the main reason I was excited for this movie. Still, it’s got to be better than the original, which doesn’t hold up well. Still, I have a little trouble believing that Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Anton Yelchin are still in high school. Both are around 22 in year life.
“Got to be better than the original” — lol.
You serious? The original holds up incredibly well on the charisma of Chris Sarandon and Roddy McDowall’s fine performance. Two aspects this remake does not appear that it will come remotely close to equaling. (Is David Tenant in the movie for 5 minutes, because he doesn’t even get a line in this trailer!).
THE LOST BOYS is the ’80s vampire movie that is firmly a product of its time. That film is dated stylistically and in every manner possible.
Wait, 22 is too old to play a high school character? Might want to tell that to every other movie ever made.
Not much David Tennant in that – did he hit the cutting room floor or are they saving him up – in the original the Roddy McDowall role was key…
Okay. First of all, did I really watch a :30 ad BEFORE a movie trailer?
Second, that looks awful. I mean, really, really awful. I’m usually not a cynic, but that movie has taken all the fun out of Fright Night and made it generic.
The :30 ad BEFORE the ad was more interesting.
this looks miserable.
The usual cyncial anti-remake crybabies come out. You’re as expected and unwelcome as usual.
I’m a fan of the original and this looks just fine. If you’re gonna do a remake, you’re supposed to change certain things. If you’d bothered to live a whole life between the original and now like I have, you’d have gained some perspective enough to know that. Feel free to continue to cry and whine though.
This will never top the original. But then remakes rarely do. Just a way for producers to make money while mitigating risks on unproven new material, thereby saving their jobs.
No Roddy McDowell character, no Peter Vincent?
The original was smart, funny, subtle & sexy.
This ain’t.
I’ll take the Zero.
From the version of the film I saw a few days ago- David Tennant IS in the film quite a bit, the movie has major pacing issues, it was shot for an R rating, needs more scenes of Colin Farrell being the “charming” neighbor before being a murderous vampire (as it stands know, you get one scene of charm, then the very next scene with him in it it’s revealed immediately that he’s a vampire. No build up.), etc. Movie has issues beyond “oh, another remake.” Too bad, too, as there are a few fun scenes in it.
God help these people…Good rule of thumb is if you remake a film – remake a bad one ( Ocean’s 11 For example ) – The original was great.. This looks terrible. Chris Sarandon was a charming Vampire in his 40′s… Colin Farrell Barely looks like he’s out of his 20′s… This doesnt’ look scary or funny in anyway shape or form. Nothing like seeing a vampire on a Dirt bike prowling the high schools for girls.
it will make zillions
Colin Farrell is at the end of his starring run – hence the desperation with “picking” this by-the-numbers script. Vampire Disturbia – in 3D no less. Pointless.
Wow. Umm…so this trailer is giving me Disturbia with a vampire twist. I pass.
I’m not sure why everyone’s surprised David Tennant is so absent from the trailer — no one in the U.S. who’s not a Doctor Who fan has any idea who he is. Don’t worry: he’s still got a solid part in the movie.
Where is the campiness that made the original so great?
Just saw an advanced screening , shouldn’t have called this movie Fright Night! I love the original! Barely and I mean just barely similar.
