looks like a B movie at best.
Saw this in Dallas. Holy Crap. It’s bloody and gory and amazing!
I heard Brian Cox player laid down the guitar track for this trailer… gwikky gwikky gweweweooow
Apparently no studio wanted it. Can’t say I’m surprised based on that trailer.
This will be released 1 month before on Video on Demand before it hits theaters? That’s nuts. The producers will be lucky to pay for all the fake blood with their soon-to-be-nonexistent profits.
They’ll be lucky to make enough to pay for Paul Giamotti’s wig!
:-O
Hey Really? Welcome to the 21st Century where everyone will be able to watch films VOD first.
This way you don’t have to get off your own fat ass except to reach for the remote.
I wouldn’t get off my fat ass to reach for the remote to watch this drivel.
At the very least, it was nice to watch an entire trailer without Natalie Portman popping up somewhere.
looks good , but whats with the wig on Giamatti ? He looks miscast
This is the movie where Paul Giamatti decided to punch his horse in the jaw in between takes in order to make the horse “behave” and stand still. He actually bragged about this on Conan about a month ago. And he got away with it, too, because the American Humane Association wasn’t able to monitor animal action on this film.
I am boycotting this film, and Giamatti, as a result. I hope others will join me.
They won’t.
If you really think this happened then you don’t deserve to leave the house! I was on set the whole time Giamatti was on set. If you really believe that we would let anyone treat the animals on set like that, then you really are an idiot! The horses were treated better than us extras and once the scene was filmed the handlers took over and led them to graze. What you have said is insulting to us British and shows you for the poor misinformed pleb you are. Go watch the film and see what the British film industry has to offer.
Oh come on you don’t seriously believe that!?!
So, is using footage that hasn’t seen post processing in trailers a thing now? Because I’ve been seeing it more and more for a while now, and I don’t like it.
Giamatti is good in everything though, so I’ll check this out once I have the chance.
So used to seeing Giamatti in wimpy roles, this one kind of threw me off. I say maybe.
Looks amazing!!!!! Looking forward to July 8th!!!!!!!!!
James Purefoy kicks fucking ass!
Is this where Europe’s un-bought crap goes? ARC? Snoring…
This movie looks God awful, James Pur-a-who?
From a title like “Ironclad” I was expecting a Civil War movie about the Monitor and the Merrimac. And never mind Giamatti’s wig, what about his accent — kind of wavering. Still a great actor and I thought the film looks interesting, certainly an eclectic cast.
The title had me confused as well till I asked the sales agents. It turns out “Ironclad” was the then term for men wearing armor. As for a Monitor vs. Merrimac film, that would be awesome.
Since I’ve no connection with this film in any shape or form, I can safely say it’s big fun and if you like this sort of thing then it’s well worth it: a sort of Magnificent Seven holed up in a castle against huge odds. Axes and swords hack and slash, loads of bad guys get hacked and slashed, blood spurts, limbs fly, what’s not to like? And Paul Giamatti is clearly having the time of his life chewing the scenery.
You may not see this at your local theatre as it is playing VOD in June. Oh well.
I’d be the first one to rip on this normally ’cause Hollyweird is full of self righteous assholes but, it loks pretty good to me.
All you haters sound like a bunch of greasy douchebags who are making it personal talking about the producers making their money back. Sounds like you should try and get to work and see how you do?
It loks like crap to me.
The film is awesome! Action, violence, gore – hit all the right buttons! Loved it!
Saw this film in England. Love action movies and was not disappointed. Relentless excitement. There’s an 11 minute battle scene that had me on the edge of my seat. To all you haters, don’t knock it til you’ve seen it!!!

This looks like Ridley’s Scott Robin Hood SHOULD have looked like, without all the apologetic political correctness…looking forward to it!
