Fox made the renewal official this morning after star David Boreanaz broke the news via Twitter last night.
FOX has renewed the hit series BONES for a seventh season, it was announced today by Kevin Reilly, President of Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company.“BONES is creatively fresh, it’s a rock-solid player every time it airs and this season it has helped us win on Thursday nights for the first time in our history,” said Reilly. “Hart Hanson and the fantastic cast and crew, as well as the millions of loyal BONES fans, make this show really special, and I’m excited to have it on our air for another stellar season.”
BONES is a darkly amusing procedural centered on a highly skilled forensic anthropologist who can read clues left behind in victims’ bones and an FBI agent. These unlikely partners take on homicide cases involving human remains that most forensic specialists can’t handle. The series stars Emily Deschanel, David Boreanaz, TJ Thyne, Michaela Conlin, Tamara Taylor and John Francis Daley.

Bad news for some of the quality pilots Fox actually has in the pipeline.
Rumor has it Bin Laden was in the middle of a heated debate about what’s worse, Bones or Navy NCIS, when he got his top blown off. Dude loved his Thursday night comedies.
HAHAHAHAHAHA! Sounds like a disgruntled writer of one of those Fox pilots that won’t be getting a pick up. Bones is the number 2 drama on FBC and say what you want about NCIS but it is the number one drama in the country.
I’m actually just a TV viewer tired of the same old thing.
Yeah, and Three and a Half Men was number one. What’s your point?
The only upcoming Fox project I care about is “The Finder”
The show standing in the way of quality TV on Fox is Fringe.
If you take a deep breath you can still smell The Finder. Poor casting and forced dialogue…
no taste @$$hole
I agree. I don’t think I’d use “good taste” with anything on FOX.
Any Information on the House negotiations?
Great! David Boreanaz has work for another year! If only his former Buffy co-star Sarah Michelle Gellar were so lucky…
Congratulations to HART, Steve, the entire cast and crew – some of the sweetest, kindest and most professional group I’ve ever come across!.
Bones and NCIS are my husband’s and my two favorite shows. Perhaps you could allow a couple of well written shows to air which appeal to the over 49 demographic!
Sorry, but in fact the forensic anthropologist does not look for clues left behind in an FBI agent. Although that might make for an interesting show in its own right. Have a comma – they’re free!
I’m 26 years old and Bones and NCIS are my two favorite television shows going today…
Love Bones, NCIS, Castle, Body of Proof, Warehouse13…pretty much anything that is NOT a reality show! Not a big sitcom fan either come to think of it. No need to belittle those of us who enjoy these…there is plenty of airtime and lots of channels for everyone to find something they enjoy. I think we’re currently a little heavy on the reality side, so please keep the Bones genre alive!
