• If she is leaving 3 months before her contract it sounds like her husband’s health is even more dire than they are saying. I hope I’m wrong, Viera is just lovely.

• So Anne Curry. They couldn’t have traded for Ju Ju or someone from CBS. Umh. I like her at the news desk. I just cannot see her doing fun fun with Matt. So when is he leaving?

• These people are all a bit too precious for me and therefore interchangeable and boring. I feel for her husband and for her to suffer through serious illness, but I stopped stomaching morning television fluff years ago. Good luck to them all and God help the rest of us.

• Meredith is very classy. I’ve been a fan of hers since those old CBS days on News Overnight, or whatever it was called. Ann, however, is quite boring. I wish they had gone outside the family to bring someone in. Maybe they will when Matt leaves, or the rating slide. Whatever comes first.

• Viera is an intelligent, humorous, class act and will be sorely missed from the screen.

  The choice of Curry is really a lackluster choice. She basically got it because she’s been there X amount of time. Yes, she’s capable but the role she fills now suits her capabilities and she’s not of the same level of talent as Viera.

  NBC should pursue Maria Shriver.

• Sorry to hear about Meredith and good luck to her. Ann Curry ain’t the right choice, personally I would have gone with Tamron Hall, she’s beautiful, articulate, intelligent and personable….unless of course Roker fills their quota.

• Honestly, with 24 minutes of breaks per hour minus the weather, regurgitating last night’s news packages and cooking, Matt reads about 12 seconds of wrap@ an hour. Does he really need 3 women to help him do such a demanding job? I realize he works 10 times harder than Les does over at cbs and gets paid 10 times less, but still…

• Ann “fast talker” Curry is not a good choice. She is at her best when reading the news directly from the tele-prompter. Any kind of improve at all throws her for a gushy loop. GMA must be thrilled, finally a full season of ratings “winning” ahead of them.

• figured when or if Meridith confirmed officialy she is leaving today it would be because one she figures she needs to spend more time with her family and husband. and glad they finaly gave Ann her job for means they do not have to go hunting some one who already knows how today works. though surprise today did not try and hire Katie back. but sad to see Meridith leave wish her luck in the future

• Won’t have to worry much about Today now. When curry does an interview, she always manages to make it be about herself. She’s the most annoying person on talk TV — even worse than Kathie Lee (and that’s quite a bar to clear!).

• I agree with the majority…Ann Curry, poor choice. She tries too hard and talks over people…gets tongue-tied even when she reads from the tele-prompter. How is she going to keep things going smooth for two hours? I will no longer be a regular viewer of the TODAY SHOW.
