Miramax has hired TV industry veterans Lindsay Gardner and Bob Cook as Strategic Advisers, the company announced today, bringing them aboard to help guide such strategic initiatives as digital distribution, domestic TV syndication and developing Miramax-branded cable networks. They will report to Miramax CEO Mike Lang, who worked with both at Fox Entertainment; Gardner was Affiliate Sales and Marketing president at Fox Cable Networks, and Cook is a former president and COO of Fox’s syndication/distribution arm Twentieth Television. Gardner was lead negotiator and point person on Miramax’s recent deal with Netflix.

For a company that isn’t making any films and is solely working with library titles, they’re sure bringing in a lot of high-paid talent. just sayin’
Anyone who knows Lang or has spent any time around him knows that he’s not qualified to run a studio so it’s no surprise that he is bringing in all of these folks to help. We all know being a good M&A guy does NOT make one CEO material. Plus, not sure how much longer I would hang my hat on “I’m the guy who crafted the Myspace acquisition for Fox….just sayin’…………
