UPDATE 6:40 PM: NBC just renewed the Kathy Bates-starring Harry’s Law, another solid performer that had been expected to make the cut for a second season. That will keep David E. Kelley’s presence on NBC despite the expected pass on his Wonder Woman pilot. Word is Chuck’s renewal may come tomorrow.
PREVIOUS: NBC just renewed the one bubble show that wasn’t really on the bubble: dramedy Parenthood. With solid ratings in the Tuesday 10 PM slot, stellar DVR numbers and upscale audience, it was a shoe-in to come back. Still to come – the official pickup of Chuck, which may not come until tomorrow, and probably a renewal of Harry’s Law.

Yahooooo!
parenthood is such a well done series. My wife and I and several of our friends watch every week and talk about the real life situations we relate to our own lives. I hope it stays on tv for many years to come. Great cast and great writing.
I LOVE PARENTHOOD!!! This is the first TV series I have ever watched. I can’t wait until the next week. I even got may friend hooked.
So why does it stop for a while then start up again? Is it coming back on ? Plese I hope so
What happened here? Network executives with brains? Can’t be…waiting for a foot to drop!
Parenthood is such a great tv series. It’s an example of a show that became better after the pilot.
Finally some good news… i glad with Chuck and Harry`s Law coming back next fall season….
yes, a smart pick up, for a classy show with a brilliant cast, especially MAE WHITMAN. Yeah to more Mae Whitman!
Congrats to everyone on Team Braverman!
WOOT WOOT !!!
YAY! easily the best written, produced, and acted show on network television! NBC did something right! imagine that!
can’t wait to see the new season after the great cliffhanger!
Most maudlin crap on television. Truly terrible show.
Congrats to the entire cast and crew. Jason Katims, who I wish I had worked with at some point in my career, has crafted the best written, directed and cast extended family drama in years. All this after five seasons of Friday Night Lights is really a run for the books. Kudos to Imagine for sticking with the concept and not giving up after a bad first attempt at this concept as a 1/2 hour comedy. This is a show that stands on its own and for most of the audience has nothing to do with the very good movie made years ago by Ron Howard and written by Ganz/Mandel. If the people who vote for emmy’s do not give due credit to Peter Krause (i’ve never much liked) and Monica Potter as the most believable married couple raising a teenage daughter and a son challenged by aspergers since Britton/Chandler on FNL than they have not watched the show. Great work all around. I think it might play better at 9 for NBC so It will be interesting to see if they stand pat on the schedule.
They renewed Harry’s Law from a business perspective, not a creative one. Although Boston Legals was pretty terrible too and that gre into a great series.
Happy Parenthood got the nod it deserves. One of the most solid shows on TV, emotional but never schmalzy. With Friday Night Lights and this, Jason Katims is killing it. No, I don’t write for the show… but wish I did.
Congrats to Harry’s Law! While it certainly pales in comparison to other legal shows currently on the air, it’s wonderful to have Kathy Bates on television.
Exactly what other legal shows are you talking about? I personally think that Harry’s Law is great. She’s fantastic.
I agree wholeheartedly! It’s a great program. I love the subjects that are tackled weekly. There’s not another show like it. Also love the cast. Yes, Kathy Bates is terrific. I’m glad she’s with us and I hope the show stays a long time.
what about Law and Order:SVU
Parenthood is high quality. Excellent writing , excellent acting , and does not require police or doctors to create drama.
Yay!!!
Congrats to Parenthood. That series deserves the pick-up. Kudos Team Braverman!
Great news for me, a fan of Parenthood.
Bravreman’s FTW. Love Parenthood. If you think this show is crap then you have crap taste.
Parenthood is great! Mae Whitman is great, totally agree. Max character is well acted, also. And I love Dax – never would have said it in his Punk’d days, but he comes off as a 360 degree character.
Yeah, renew all the predominantly white shows!!!
Love Harry’s Law- glad its coming back
HARRY’S LAW is the only NBC show I watch so very pleased that they brought that back. The show may not be much but I love me some Kathy Bates!
I’m so happy about Parenthood. The show is amazing. You made me happy NBC.
Agree with the poster above. Mae Whitman is a major, major acting talent.
Peter Krause is 3 for 3 in terms of landing on top notch, incredibly-written and absorbing, entertaining classic shows (Sports Night, Six Feet Under & Parenthood. Let’s pretend Dirty Sexy Money never happened.)
I love Parenthood !!!….More Lauren Please !!!
I agree, more Lauren please….only watched this because of Gilmore girls but am loving it…not quite as good but getting there!!
