EXCLUSIVE: A day after the Tony Awards nominations were announced, next comes the naming of the host. It will be … wait for it … Neil Patrick Harris. I’m told Harris will soon be set to host the Tony Awards telecast that CBS will broadcast June 12 from the Beacon Theatre. Harris’s position as the star of one of CBS’ most important comedies, How I Met Your Mother, certainly gave him an inside track, but he hosted two years ago and proved himself to be a versatile performer who did a fine job. Sean Hayes, who will be busy playing Larry Fine in the Farrelly Brothers-directed Three Stooges movie at 20th Century Fox, hosted last year.

Awesome.
He should do the Oscars next year.
Yes, the star of Undercover Brother and Harold and Kumar. Give me a break! The dude came off “small” and misplaced with his one dance routine a few years back, why give him the whole show after that? He works great at the Tonys. Just keep him there and let him keep doing that.
Looks like someone keeps up with current affairs.
Yay! Great news. Can’t get enough of NPH. He is sublime. Such a great role mode and awesome talent. Only bummer is that Dan Lauria was not nominated for his stellar work in and as LOMBARDI at Circle in the Square.
His work on the Tonys two years ago was the best hosting gig I’ve seen anyone pull off since Crystal at the Oscars. They should lock him down longterm, he made the Tonys watchable, and that’s saying something.
wait a sec! Pee-Wee Herme was on Broadway this year! Can he PLEASE host the Tonys!?!?!?! Now THAT would be a party
Great news — love him!!!
Good choice.
NPH makes hosting look effortless. He hits his mark and is seamless with the teleprompter. A real pro and the perfect choice.
thank god!
