This just isn’t Donald Trump’s weekend. First on Saturday he was skewered by President Barack Obama at the White House Correspondents Dinner because of Trump’s relentless attacks relating to Obama’s birth certificate. Then tonight, the news that Osama bin Laden had been killed by an Obama-ordered U.S. Navy Seals mission broke in the middle of Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice boardroom scene on the East Coast. The broadcast networks all interrupted their regular programming around 10:45 PM ET. Quipped one Twitter user: “Donald Trump demands Osama Bin Laden’s death certificate.” The broadcast networks also pre-empted their programming to carry President Obama’s address to the nation about Bin Laden’s death at around 8:30 PM PT (11:30 PM ET). By 9 PM PT, the regular lineups had returned except on ABC, which stuck with news coverage over Desperate Housewives. A new episode of the dramedy started at 10 PM. As for the actual news of Bin Laden’s killing, like so many other big stories these days, it was not broken by a news organization but by Twitter. Keith Urbahn, the chief of staff for former defense secretary Donald Rumsfeld, was the first to tweet it some 20 minutes before the networks announced it.

I am no Obama fan, but I doubt Obama and his staff timed the announcement to mess up Trump’s TV show. If anything, they wanted to get this out so that the Monday news programs had enough time to prep the story before their morning shows…..but also wanted to get the facts straight before speaking to the media.
Nothing could ever get me to vote for Obama – or Trump for that matter. But this was big news and worth a cut in. The only problem with the cut in was that news divisions cut in a good half hour before the president came on so you just listened to befuddled anchors chewing over the item for 30 minutes and by the time the president came on it was almost anticlimactic.
In our area more people were annoyed by having the ball game cut into than Apprentice.

Of course it was not timed for that interuption, but, timing is everything and it just felt good that it happened that way. Of course the Donald won’t shut up, but now I hope at least the media will be a bit more decerning in giving him carte blanche coverage.

Trump didn’t appear on his regularly scheduled Monday-Morning Quarterback spot on Fox and Friends this morning (May 2). Whether that’s because he’s still smarting over the shellacking he took at the White House Correspondent’s dinner this weekend, or because Fox decided the news of Bin Laden’s death didn’t need his boorish brand of comic relief, we may never know.
Imagine what else this president might accomplish if only he had the support – and not the constant harrassment – of people like Trump, the other Republicans, members of the Tea party, etc.
Pretty soon, if not this very day, people will rightfully view the president’s antagonists for what they are – obstructionists who are actually working against this country’s best interests.

Imagine what he could accomplish if only he was qualified for the job.
So everyone with a divergent opinion should just shut up and let Obama do whatever he wants? wow, that is just like my mother-in-law!
If he cannot take the heat of being the POTUS, he should not run again. It is the toughest job in the world and he clearly wasn’t up to the challenge.

Hope this is beginning of end of Trump’s run of media attention. Obama’s speech just won the 2012 election for another term.
I’d pay real money of Trump would run. I think the DNC should put him on the payroll. Before the Bibn Laden announcement, the PPP released a poll: Obama – 48% Trump 32% – if the election were held today.

How does this NOT benefit Trump? Your logic is in reverse. Trump gets mentioned by Obama as if he did make Obama reveal his birth certificate. This is a WIN by Trump and it makes Obama seem a bit smaller and it brings Obama to Trump’s level. That grin by Trump is actually a smirk.

I really don’t believe that President Obama is that small and petty to do this to specifically confound Donald Trump’s game show. I think anybody that sincerely believes that must have a remarkably poor view of the president, worse than most of his critics.

FACTS as followed : the ” Republicans ” are the ones who started the wars / mission to hunt down Bin Laden, it took almost 10 years on a mission before his location was found through information retrieved from prisoners by using methods of ” extra torture “……it is only the ” timing ” that Obama happens to be in the White House, if it had been another person as president they would have ordered the same thing:)….so this was timing, and the credit is not due to Obama….sorry guys! Bush got so much shit for starting this war / mission, if he hadn’t gotten it started, it would never have led up to this point! FACTS are FACTS:)
