Olivia Munn and Alison Pill have now completed their negotiations for supporting roles in Aaron Sorkin’s drama pilot for HBO tentatively titled More As This Story Develops. The project centers on cable news anchor Will McCallister (Jeff Daniels), who has his own show, as well as the show’s female executive producer and staff. Pill will play Maggie, an associate producer on the assignment desk. Munn, repped by CAA and Mosaic, will play a sexy financial analyst on the same cable network as McCallister. Emily Mortimer is still in negotiations for the female lead of the executive producer, MacKenzie. Munn, who recently starred on NBC’s midseason comedy Perfect Couples, was courted for several broadcast pilots this pilot season but opted not do any. She continues to be a correspondent on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show. Tony nominee Pill, repped by WME and Joannie Burstein, co-starred on the second season of HBO’s In Treatment.

Yes, shush you haters of good to great acting.Olivia Munn is a solid contributor to hollywoods fine Mediocrity For All campaign.Since Megan Fox has become a D-lister who can no longer get any major roles in anything, Olivia Munn’s mediocrity is a welcome replacement.
Was just about to post the same thing. I don’t quite understand the fascination with her. I’ve tried, and I just don’t get it. I wish her the best of luck, but I also wish they’d start using actual talent.

Munn’s role is the least recurring of all of them. Since it’s on HBO where they really don’t care about ratings, this will probably last 2 or 3 seasons. I’ve read the script and looks good. I just don’t think it’s HBO material.
Olivia Munn failed at comedy so I guess she wants to see if she can fail at drama. The answer will be yes
Btw, Why are they having such a hard time casting this thing? They have only cast 3 of the I believe 7 characters in the pilot.
I don’t necessarily think they are having casting issues.
1. As far as I know, HBO has not announced when production will begin.
2. It’s HBO. They’ve already started shooting “Game Change” and haven’t even announced yet who will play Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama. They’re doling out info bit by bit and getting a lot of press.
Munn is only believable as an out of work spokesmodel. Eh. Even then she probably couldn’t pull it off.
Congrats to Olivia. Well deserved. Sorkin couldn’t have picked a better actress for the job. So looking forward to seeing her in the full series.

I really don’t get Olivia Munn. Aside from a few photoshoots she’s nailed, Munn looks like any cute girl in any mall in America. Her hosting skills are mediocre, acting skills are mediocre, she’s just … blah. The only thing she seems to be good at is famewhoring. Hollywood is really out of touch when it comes to certain stars they keep trying to force on us.
Pill, by contrast, is pretty killer. Props to her. And Emily Mortimer + Sorkin is genius, so I’ll watch in spite of my doubts.

Seriously disappointed in Sorkin casting Munn. He is so talented and classy, let’s hope I’m wrong. I just prefer her sticking to G4 or other hosting gigs, just not on HBO please.

Olivia Munn was at her best on Attack of the Show. I don’t think an HBO drama is going to suit her. She needs to get back to doing what she is good at.
Olivia is great. Just haters. We arr yet to see her capability.
Don’t pay attention to all the Olivia Munn haters. They are just angry because there mom is starting to ask for rent money to live in her basement.
I think we’ll wind up seeing one or two Aaron Sorkin repeaters — Josh Malina, Janel Moloney, Bradley Whitford, Timothy Busfield, etc.
What is the matter with you people? Are you so mad at your tragic lives that you seek to hurt someone else… Just to try and lift yourselves up? Don’t be lame, be a better person.
Remember, she’s the one crying all the way to the bank! I think Olivia is great.
Can’t wait to see how Olivia does on this. I think she’s great and was by far the best character on Perfect Couples. Too bad it didn’t catch on.
