OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network announced today that four new series — Unfaithful: Stories Of Betrayal, The Dr. Laura Berman Show, Visionaries: Inside the Creative Mind and Carson Nation — will premiere in June. Unfaithful, which follows couples who have survived infidelity in their marriages, is set for June 6 at 9 PM, followed by sex and relationship expert Berman at 10 PM. Visionaries, a documentary series featuring interviews with the likes of Tyler Perry, Tom Ford and James Cameron, premieres June 17 at 10 PM. Carson Nation, featuring Carson Kressley traveling from town to town to do make-overs, debuts June 25 at 10 PM.

There is absolutely nothing here you can’t find on any other network.
It’s quite a bit different running a network of programming versus a single talk show with Oprah as the star.
Maybe, over time, OWN will take off the training wheels and learn to ride the program bike…but, presently, there does not appear to be the leadership and imagination needed to make OWN…good, viable and profitable.
Oprah is learning that her brand can carry her network only so far…without solid shows.
Just end it now.
Apparently there is no one an OWN who has a clue about what new, interesting things women would like to see.
Carson doing makeovers? Really?
I haven’t watched a single show on OWN yet and I guess I won’t be in the future. Shucks.
To me, Carson doing makeovers is the only one I might watch, but not at 10PM.
Seems to be a lot of psychobabble.
Nothing for me to see here! I’ll go watch something more meaningful!
Right Coast, Copper Deuce and Bored say it all. Does Oprah understand that the features that make an interesting or not so interesting hour on her show do not hold up as a series? What is she thinking? That you can just buy a network and throw anything up there and people will flock to it because you are Oprah?
And – as my nom says – as a big reader i am more than disappointed that there are not any scripted shows in her lineup. If she is already committed to throwing her money away, spend it on some of the stuff you plugged for years in your book club! If you want to promote minority authors or characters there are a world of them – Sterling Anthony’s Det Mary Cunningham, Nora DeLoach’s Mama and Simone, Persia Walkers 1920s society columnist Lanie Price, Aileen Schumachers Rosewood survivor, Lissy, Philippa Gregorys tale of the 18th century British slave trade in ‘A Respectable Trade’.
If not – give Tyler Perry a call.
