EXCLUSIVE: I’ve just learned that Paramount is moving up Michael Bay’s Transformers: Dark Of The Moon to Wednesday, June 29th from Friday, July 1st. The studio’s big Summer 2011 blockbuster will open day and date in all markets except China and Japan on that new date. “Early response to footage, especially the 3D footage, has been great so we want to get the word out that this film is as good or better than the first and much better than the last,” an insider just told me. It’s the only action movie opening between June 24th and July 15th.

Just another stupid toy movie filled with product placement that I will not see.
Yeah? I bet they’ll really miss YOUR money.
Served!!!
And we can make more money.
It won’t be too difficult to make a better movie than the first or the last. But even easier to make a worse one.
It looks like it will be a really intense film and much darker in tone while less camp than the first two films. It’s played a lot more straight but still really epic.
I’m looking forward to seeing Patrick Dempsey’s role. He’s playing the first human villain in a Transformers movie.
I don’t want to ruin it for people who are still interested in the story, but it’s at the very least one of the more interesting and intriguing plot developments that’s happened in one of these films.
@Roman
Does Starscream attempt to backstab Megatron at every turn in order to become leader of the decepticons? Does bumblebee talk? Do the transformers speak more lines than the humans? Are there energon cubes in the movie? Is there witty banter between autobots and decepticons? If yes, to all of the above then you’ve got my money.
Chh chh chh chh CHH CHH CHH!!!!
In case anyone wasn’t sure, that was an insult.
worst insult ever.
Even better than part two? Unpossible!
I’m looking forward to this, as well as the summer movie season in general.
Oh really, this from the same people who gave us The Last Airbender and Transformers 2. I’m not in the habbit of using my money to dispose of random dog crap on the road that I come across when I walk down the street. When that becomes a habbit for me I will definitely start handing over my money paramount.
I didn’t know M. Night Shyamalan wrote and directed Transformers 2 and 3. Thats news to me!
Every new Michael Bay movie seems more animated than the former. Even the non-animated parts.
Where’s GoBots?
Good move by Paramount.
i can not believe anyone would talk poorly about Transformer movies. So far they have been entertaining. Isnt that what movies are for. I just hope a good pirated copy comes out right after the release so us Soldiers in Iraq can watch it. Enjoy the freedoms that some of us are defending for you.
What’re you even talking about?? I don’t recall Iraq attacking us here on the mainland (in fact, Saddam was our ally only 20 years ago during the Iran/Iraq war, remember? Where do you think they got the weapons they’re now using against you?). And none of us over here enjoy the freedom to pirate copyrighted material.
Just come back home safely and let’s call it a day already.
God bless you and all the soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen.I cant say enough about the sacrifices you guys make for our country.Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
One of the freedoms you’re defending in Iraq is the freedom to earn a living from one’s own copyrighted work. P.S.: Thank you and come home whole. Immediately.
Must be because of my age, but every time I see that title, I want to say ‘Dark SIDE of the Moon’.
You know they will have to use Pink Floyd’s song in there somewhere.
I thought the second one was better than the first, anyone else agree?
If this flick grosses over 400m domestic I’m going raw dog all over town.
If does 200m will go sheepskin all over town?
Will there be explosions?
I was just saying to my friend how unusual this summer has been with no movies opening up on Wednesday (last summer films were opening every day of the week it seemed). Well, here is the first Wednesday release.
Michael Bay = explosion-obsessed M. Night Shymalan
No thanks.
How dare you demean the name of (fill in one of the names) by equating him with (fill in the other name)?
On one hand this is awesome b/c we’ll get to see it a few days earlier. but I just realized that the LOTR ROTK EE screening is on June 28th from 7-11 so there’s no way to be inline for midnight TF3 IMAX at the same time. Damn you cruel world
Yes, because you want to “get the word out” that film is GOOD you’re moving up the release and doing day and date. Not because people might find out too soon how bad it actually is.
I’m excited to see this, but still pouting over no Megan Fox. And I’m so not the demographic they are aiming for with this one.
i hope sam gets an EXSO SUIT, and really had hoped unicron and hot rod would make an appearance in this one.
