EXCLUSIVE: Universal Pictures is setting Sam Claflin to play the role of the prince in Snow White and the Huntsman, the Rupert Sanders-directed re-imagining of the fairy tale that stars Kristen Stewart as Snow White and Charlize Theron as the evil queen. The studio is still working on its huntsman, and as Deadline was the first to tell you, the offer is with Thor star Chris Hemsworth. Claflin just starred in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and he has just been offered the title role opposite Jeff Bridges and Julianne Moore in the Warner Bros/Legendary supernatural thriller The Seventh Son. Claflin could make that film, which starts in March, and then follow with Snow White and the Huntsman. CAA and Independent Talent rep him.

this is the only Snow White I care to see. amazing cast
So exciting to finally see renditions of the great fairy tales done in a medium other than cartoon. Disney will never be equaled for ‘princess stories’, but it certainly is enjoyable to have so many ‘period’ renditions coming out!
Wow – this cast is shaping up to be awesome! i thought this movie was dead but all of a sudden Hemsworth, Kristen, Charlize, Claflin?? this is an amazing cast. This wins over. this feels much bigger now than the other one.
I get that K-Stew fans want this to be the best movie ever, and she certianly is a fine actress outside of Twilight, but the other SW looks much better. Armie Hammer >>>>>>>>>>>> Claflin, and they get it that SW is more beautiful than the Wicked Queen hence why Lily Collins is pit against Julia Roberts. OTOH, Charlize blows K-Stew out of water lookswise (not that K-Stew isn`t a beauty just in in Charlize league). And we are now to believe that charims and looks superpower hemsworth will be ditched for charisma non-entity Claflin? Lol.
Thank you Addison!! You read my mind!! Choosing the “prince charming” Clefin over rugged huntsman Hemsworth?? That’s insanity, that’s what that is….
The only one I’ve seen in anything is Stewart and Charlize. Charlize can be good, but Kristen Stewart? She comes across as very one-note…and not a good note.
Lol. I too used to be like that. Then I watched Welcome to the Rileys and The cake eaters due to my friends insistence, and now I too have crossed over to the dark side
…and we’ve yet to hear Chris Hemsworth confirmation. A strong script can do wonders for any fairy tale. If they have it, then the cast should be able to deliver a good movie.
I saw Adventure land on insistence of my friends and wanted my time back. I have seen Kristen Stewart in 3 movies besides Twilight and she is the same everywhere. She is a lovely girl but I agree with the previous poster she is very boring one-note actress. I don’t feel like watching anything with her anymore.
Dude is fugly with a Luke Perry hairline. But maybe he’ll be the Kevin Bacon of tween fairy tale genre.
Fantastic! Love this casting..now come on Chris make it happen. Don’t know when I decided to get jazzy over a Snow White film, but I’m into it. And, I love Huntsman idea over focusing on the evil queen particularly because I’m burned out on Julia. Don’t hate me.
This film sounds brilliant! stewart & hemsworth? Talk about a mega hit. I heard the script is fantastic
This cast is superb. Let’s get Thor on board and get it done!!!!
Liked him enough in ‘Pillars of the Earth’ but thought he came across his best playing the younger version of Jim Broadbent and Matthew MacFayden in the BBC mini-series, ‘Any Human Heart’ (netflix streaming)
Seven of the following recognisable actors with comedic experience will probably play the Seven Dwarfs – Doc, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, Bashful, Sneezy and Dopey – who have a scene where they all sing “Heigh-Ho” from the original 1937 classic film:
Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, Will Ferrell, Ricky Gervais, Simon Pegg, Eddie Izzard, Rowan Atkinson, Owen Wilson, Jack Black, Rob Schneider, Jeremy Piven, Mike Myers, Jim Carrey, William Shatner, Steve Martin, Alec Baldwin, Tim Allen, Chevy Chase, John Goodman, Billy Connolly, Danny DeVito, Robin Williams, George Lopez, John Cleese, Steve Coogan.
Hi ho! Hi ho! Hi ho! Hi ho! Hi ho!
Hi ho! Hi ho!
It’s home from work we go (whistles)
how many times are you going to post this comment and think it is funny? pathetic
Avec un pareil casting ce film sera un vrai chef d’œuvre!
I have a feeling that this cast will outshine Kristen. I still think shes not a great choice for the role. Find someone new and younger that can actually act.
WAY TO GO SAM CLAFLIN!
Sam is a talented British hottie…I LOVE that Universal picked him!
I know his work what a pleasant surprise.
YAY YAY!!! Sooo HAPPY
This is hIGHlarious! Alex Pettyfer: pretty boy, but with a nasty and arrogant attitude, has kept saying how the studio was offering him the part in the Seventh Son…that doesn’t seem the case here. Keep up the good work Sam Claflin! I have been rooting for you ever since PILLARS OF THE EARTH!
THAT’s the prince she’s going to end up with? Seriously?
I just saw him in Pirates. He’s a stiff. Really f-ing awful. Enough with these horrible, boring Brit actors. No wonder movies stink these days.
AHHHH i was sooooo happy when i read Sam Claflins name! Im a major fan, and loved him in ‘the pillars of the earth’ ‘United’ and ‘Any Human Heart’ And haters, why the hate? what have you got against the talented, hot British Actor, who is now becoming evermore popualar?:D
He looks like a match for the old arcade game “Dragon’s Lair”
Claflin is my fav!!!!!
