EXCLUSIVE: I hear TBS is close to giving a series order to hourlong pilot The Wedding Band starring Brian Austin Green, Peter Cambor and Harold Perrineau. I also hear that the network’s other two one-hour pilots, Ron Shelton’s Hound Dogs and the Dean Devlin-produced Brain Trust, are not going forward. Along with the broadcast networks, TNT and TBS are also prepping for their upfront presentation next week. TBS is expected to officially unveil The Wedding Band at the Turner presentation Wednesday.
The Wedding Band, from writers and executive producers Josh Lobis and Darin Moiselle (South Park), FremantleMedia and Mike Tollin’s Tollin Prods., follows a group of guys performing in a wedding band, anchored by two lifelong best friends — perennial bachelor Tommy (Brian Austin Green) and Eddie (Peter Cambor), a married father of two. Co-starring in the pilot are Lost alum Perrineau, Kathryn Fiore, Jenny Wade and Derek Miller. TBS first got in the hourlong comedy genre last year with four pilots, two of which, Glory Daze and Franklin & Bash, went to series. Glory Daze ran for one season, while Franklin & Bash moved to TNT and will premiere June 1.

wedding band seems like a no-brainer. terrific concept, easy to market, and a great cast. can’t wait to see this show.
Looks pretty good in comparison to most TBS fare. I remember when TBS was Turner’s flagship network; but in the last decade they’ve been getting a lot of sloppy seconds.
Koonin, for the love of all that is holy, please issue the mandate for half-hour comedies. Now that Brain Trust and Hound Dogs didn’t work, nor did Glory Daze, give your people the opportunity to greenlight something that is half-hour, but also not created by Tyler Perry.
wedding band makes complete sense…everyone wants to see BAG back on TV…and with a great supporting cast, it will be a success.
GO BAG!!!
Writing is subpar and dated
completely agree. Got to page 15 and gave up
Seems like Eliza made the right decision bailing on Hound Dog.
That was Bird Dog – not Hound Dogs.
YYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSS, awesome news regarding the Wedding Band.
Brian Austin Green is such an underrated actor. I wish he was in more mainstream films and given the opportunity to truly shine.
I enjoyed his peformances on Terminator The Sarah Connor Chronicles (I still hate Fox for that), Smallville and Desperate Housewives (don’t like the new guy with Bree); heck basically, the majority of the stuff he’s been in. However, this makes up for it.
I hope, it finds success with the audience aaaaaahhhhh the singing = BRING IT. The whole cast is strong so hopefully, it’s going to be funny and given a chance to build an audience not just one or two seasons.
I’m fedup of everyone associating Brian Austin Green with just Megan Fox, when he’s been around for years, so very happy for him but more mainstream films too.
The idiots that get a break in films time and time again with people like Brian Austin Green are left to the side is shocking, who actually can act but just require the right vehicle is again shocking.
Yes, I’m a fan and proud just can’t wait (this guy deserves a break and less hate)…….
bag can’t act! he is such a loser. he does just stupid movies!
Can’t wait to see BAG. He is a great actor.
Didnt Fox do a wedding band show a few years ago that was a bomb? And ABC did a wedding day show, that also bombed! Does anyone see a trend here?
im hope this pilot gets picked up, Our son is in it. He needs the work. He is a really good actor.
ill watch Jenny Wade read a phone book, so im in.
I hope they dress Jenny Wade like they did on The Good Guys. The show was so-so but her in a short skirt, high heels and a tight blouse was NOT TO BE MISSED.
i was the cowgirl in the yellow dress with the boots and cowgirl hat in the dance scene that went on for hours,i had so much fun on this set, dancing with a cowboy from Texas, I sure hope Wedding Band gets picked up as a series, and I sure would like to be in it and do it all again, good luck y’all.
This show is one of the best I’ve seen in SUCH a long time! It’s brilliant! It’s conducive to those with brains – great marketing! I’m not being sarcastic, even! I love it!!!! I’ve got some further marketing ideas…. My only “boo” is that I can’t find private contact for the brilliant producers.
PS- I’ve got great ideas re: Counting Crows/Stevie
